Opening and Viewing Option for Two MS Project Files Simultaneously on Two Screens?
Hi Can two MS Project files be opened on two different screens at the same time? This option is should be there as it is for other usual MS software like Word, Excel etc. Hope this can be fixed as will ease out while working from two parallel files simultaneously. Appreciate if this can be looked at, please asap. Looking forwardSolved144KViews0likes40CommentsCollaboration in MS Project
I work for a small but growing manufacturing company that uses MS Project Professional to manage a few hundred "micro-projects" that all compete for resources, etc., at any one time. All the micro-projects are managed in one project file. As the company grows and matures, we are seeing a need to have 3-4 people actively working in the Project file at any one time, as well as an additional 5-6 internal customers that need read-only access to the project data. Is there a collaboration option in MS Project Professional? I don't think so, but would be very happy to be corrected. If not, what are the recommended MS Project versions to allow this level of collaboration? Are the third-party add-ons that can solve this problem? If so, which are recommended? Thank you!48KViews0likes2CommentsProject for the web tasks in To-do app
Hi everyone! Since uservoice cannot be used anymore, I hope this post will be read by a MSFT product group and take the suggestion in consideration 🙂 MS To-do (and/or Tasks by Planner) slowly but surely becomes the central place for tasks around the product line, but one missing piece of the puzzle which I am sure everyone would love is the ability to see the tasks from Project for the web assigned to me in To-do / Tasks by Planner. It is great already that Planner tasks are in to-do (for small/agile projects), but when it comes to complex/waterfall this feature is missing. Does anyone know if this is planned somehow? I could not find anything in MS roadmap... Thank you.Solved38KViews27likes42CommentsPERT Analysis in Microsoft Project

Are there any options for using the SharePoint modern UI with Project Online? It would be nice to be able to utilize a modern page 1) on the PWA landing page, and 2) on the home page for each of the project sites. Has anybody done this yet? And if so, are there any caveats or tricks to make it work properly with the project site template, etc.?27KViews11likes30CommentsThis project contains links to one or more data sources
Every time I open this project I get this message. have tried everything google suggested, but it isn't a common issue with project, but it is on excel. Additionally, the project is about twice the size of my other projects. It isnt connected to any other projects nor are there any external successors. Hello. My team has MS Project for the Web - Plan 3. We are a PMO. Our PMO Team have licenses, but most of our stakeholders do not. We do want to give them access to our online project plans. We have gone through the "User Group" settings and made our stakeholders members of groups like "Project XYZ Visitors," "Project XYZ Members," etc. But... when we provide a link to project plans, our stakeholders get error messages that say they cannot access or view (see below). These Users are not external. They all are internal to our org and have Office 365. Simply making them members of "User Groups" within the PWA isn't enough. Any ideas are appreciated. We don't want to have to give everyone a MS Project license if they don't need one.23KViews0likes10CommentsMicrosoft Project Online REST API

Hi all, What is the simplest way to pull Timesheets reporting out of Project Online (PWA)? My organisation is using the Timesheets functionality in Project Online to record the time resources spend against projects toenable project profitability reporting. I want to be able to build a set of reports in Excel that can be automatically refreshed and combined with other data sets. My level of Excel knowledge is pretty good, and I can see an oData connection to PWA, but the mass of tables that exist inPWA are pretty daunting. Any help or advice appreciated. Hi I am trying to have two tasks start on same day both linked to each other. So this is what I tried: Two task example Task A 06/23/2022 06/23/2022 1 day Task B 06/23/2022 06/23/2022 1 day Task C 06/23/2022 06/23/2022 1 day What I initially did is I copied the end date of the first and did a paste special as object to the start of Task B and that worked. I did even have the predecessors too. But when I tried to add more that technique didn't worked out. The only time I can have all tasks start on the same day / date is when I do not link them or remove predecessors Any advise will be much appreciated. Hello to everybody, I am using MS Project Professional version and I am currently facing some issues with displaying the Gantt chart bars on the right side of the screen when using the Detail Gantt and Tracking Gantt. In other words, I can only see the left side of the screen with all the associated tasks included, but not the corresponding charts themselves. Does anybody have a clue why is this happening? Is it maybe a view setting that I need to adapt? Thank you in advance! Asimina.Solved21KViews0likes2CommentsIs 'Project Online Desktop Client' another name for 'Project Pro for Office 365' ?
I'm a little confused about the deployment of the bits for subscription licenses. Is 'ProjectProRetail' the correct productID to use, if I need to deploy 'Project Online Desktop Client' ? We have an O365 E3 plan, which give us O365 ProPlus bits, that I deploy. Some users will need to add Visio to their machines, other users will need to add Project to their machines. The Office Deployment Tool allows me to download the bits for deployment to machines. The ODT, when invoked in 'configure' mode (sort of the equivalent of 'installation') requires that I specify in the configuration.xml which bits to deploy. The defined list of 'product IDs' permitted by the ODT doesn't list 'Project Online Desktop Client' but it does list 'ProjectProRetail' : - O365ProPlusRetail - O365BusinessRetail - VisioProRetail - ProjectProRetail - SPDRetail (SharePoint Designer 2013) https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2842297 Here's some of the articles I've been reading (none of which make it any clearer to me :( https://support.office.com/en-us/article/install-project-7059249b-d9fe-4d61-ab96-5c5bf435f281?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US&fromAR=1 https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Get-started-with-Project-Online-e3e5f64f-ada5-4f9d-a578-130b2d4e5f11?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US&fromAR=1 https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt599788(v=office.16).aspx Help?Solved20KViews0likes3CommentsMs Project integration with Teams?

Hi All, Not sure if anyone else has come across this yet seems to be a new "Feature" few users have raised a issue where they can't open project files by clicking on the file and opening it, you get the project splash screen and it just stays like that indefinitely The users are open the files from a OneDrive sync and its not a isolated issue 3 people have reported the exact same issue, the workaround I have found at the moment is launching Project by its self and opening the documents from within Project The Project version effected is:16.0.17126.20132 Hoping this is just a broken MS update that can be patched out sooner rather than later.18KViews1like14CommentsHow to display the date as month/year only
I have a long running project (think of 10+ years) and the smallest unit of planning is one month. Today I am tasked to creating the first rough sketch of the project plan. I need to create a gantt diagram as project overview where all milestones are labeled with the date. The date shall be "month/year" without the day, e.g. 11/2028. The display of the day completely obfuscates the overview. Is MS Project capable to do this or do I have to look for a different planning software? I have found many descriptions on how to create a custom field with a formula to get a custom date format. Unortunately I cannot find how to display this in the gantt diagram.Solved18KViews0likes3CommentsPrint with Microsoft Project to A0 format
Hello, A customer from me has the issue, that he cannot print with microsoft Project on the A0 format. When he wants to have it printed, he has to save it first with 'Print to PDF', and after that, send it with another tool to the printer, to print it at A0 format. He is using Microsoft Professional Project 2016 1. Is it true that Microsoft Project Cannot print on A0 with a real printer? 2. Is there a Microsoft Project version, where this is changed/solved?
