MicrosoftTop Feedback Summary for January 12

Greetings, Insiders! We have such a quiet week with no changes, so this will be a brief update. All the statuses on this page are still accurate, though some may appear out of date. We are taking this time to remind everyone of our status definitions for this list.
Our Planned for… status is designed to show when Insiders can expect to see that particular feature improvement or change in our Canary channel but doesn’t necessarily mean that’s the month that we will mark it as Addressed. Once we know that an item on this list is in our Dev channel, we work hard to provide the most accurate update we can regarding that item. Sometimes that’s marking things as Addressed, and sometimes that means giving an update on a flag or command line Insiders can use to enable a feature.
We understand that there have been items on this list longer than expected, and we massively appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue to iterate and adjust based on priorities and ensuring we are doing things right. Thank you MissyQ for the update and I will keep an eye on the page.
- Is there a plan to enable **edge for linux** sync from/to other platform devices. This is very IMPORTANT!!!
I think I've said these before but I wanted to voice my opinions on some features as they were not heard loud enough.
- When downloading a Word, PowerPoint, Excel, or any Microsoft 365 file have it first open in the web browser as google docs do. This should be for paid and free Microsoft office users as Microsoft is planning on making a free version of Microsoft 365.
Do you see in the two images above how they combined favorites, feed, and history into one pinned sidebar in internet explorer? That's what I want for favorites, downloaded, history and collections when you have them pinned. When they are not pinned I want them as they currently are where you have them as a drop-down when you click on them.

i only want documents open in online version when Office apps are not installed on the system.
- Not sure If this is a bug but every time I open a link Microsoft edge opens with the tab that normally opens and the link. I would like to open the link without the tab that normally opens. Is there a way to turn it on or off if not Add these features where links do not open with the specified new tap page chosen by users.
- When is the realistic release date for Verticle Tabs because there is a list of high-priority features that users are requesting and you (Microsoft) have not added or acknowledged them that they will be added?
- I love the new features added to the Microsoft Edge PDF viewer, but Below is a list of highly requested features that should be added.
Ability to translate PDF documents as well as notes that may be written
Page previews for PDF’s by clicking on a tab inside of the current table of contents
Ability to add text to the PDF
Ability to alter or edit the PDF
Ability to add comments on the side of PDF’s that will be saved so others who receive the PDF will also see the comments
Smoother inking
More colors for inking and highlighting
Ability to add handwritten signatures from a stylus or an uploaded file of a signature and be able to save it to your Microsoft account to use across different computers
Horizontal two-page scrolling support and better animations for two-page layout page-turning.
A focus mode similar to what Microsoft 365 currently has
Share button to share PDF’s.
Password protect PDF’s
Accability features such as changing the font, color of text, page color - When can we expect the public release of Microsoft Edge to be M1 optimized Since it is currently in the dev version of Microsoft Edge, when can we see it come to the Beta version of Microsoft Edge as well. I am holding off on upgrading my Mac until Edge is well optimized on M1 macs

the top feedback list is very good but that would allow user-submitted feedback to be tracked as well, then most popular feedbacks from there be added to this top feedback list 🙂
