Insert slicer

I tried to insert slicer to an excel sheet, where i have already inserted 4 more before, but when I click on the slicer button, pops up a window that there's no connection between sheets, or anything. Could you please help why and what should i do?

  • It sounds like you are encountering an issue where Excel is not recognizing a valid connection for inserting a Slicer in your workbook. Here are the possible reasons and proposed steps to try:

    Possible Causes

Slicer Requires a Table or PivotTable

Slicer Is Not Connected to a PivotTable or Table

The PivotTable Is Disconnected From the Data Model

    Workbook Corruption

    Steps to Try

Make sure your data is a Table (Ctrl + T) or PivotTable.

Ensure the PivotTable is connected to valid data (PivotTable Analyze > Change Data Source).

Check PivotTable Connections (PivotTable Analyze > PivotTable Connections).

Restart Excel and check if the issue persists.

Try inserting a Slicer in a new sheet with a fresh PivotTable.
