Can't access portfolios solution
We have Planner and project P3. When we try to access My Portfolios from Planner in Teams we get a message that says "Looks like you don't have the latest portfolios solution installed Contact your admin to fix this" I am an admin, but I can't find any way to update portfolios to the latest version. Has anyone been able to access the portfolios feature? If so, how did you get it to work? Thanks, Doug45Views1like1CommentMicrosoft Planner @Mention and Comment Notification in Microsoft Teams - NEW VERSION
Hi Planner Community, Thank you for the overwhelming support for my original post last year on how to @mention someone within the Microsoft Planner community and have a message automatically emailed to them. I'm excited to share that I've completely redesigned and updated the solution to now support the new Microsoft Teams Planner and remove the issues some users found with setting up the solution. Additionally, the notification is now an adaptive card within the Microsoft Teams chat to the user you @mentioned in the Microsoft Planner comment. Screenshot example above shows a comment posted by me in a Microsoft Planner task where I’ve @mentioned David at the end of the message. Screenshot example above shows the comment posted by me in Planner being automatically sent to David (thanks to the @mention in the comment) on Microsoft Teams. Allowing David to reply in either the traditional Planner or new Teams Planner. Attached is a zip file containing the Microsoft Power Automate solution, along with a detailed walkthrough to help you set it up. Enjoy! If you download the solution, all I ask is that you please give this post a thumbs up. Thanks, everyone! Hi together, I have a user who is trying to add an attachment to a Planner task. He clicks onFrom team filesand wants to choose a file from the following dialog. However, some folders are missing in the dialog. In total, there are 241 folders in the Team, but the Teams dialog only shows 200 to choose from. When the user accesses the files in the team (Files tab) he can see all 241 folders. This behaviour is the same in the Desktop app, web app and also Planner web app. What is strange is that another user can select all folders and has no limitations. Has anyone had this problem before? Are there any known limitations to the amount of folders showing, like e.g. 200? Thanks for your help.3Views0likes0CommentsResource Management with Planner
I as team leader must send members of my team to task forces. In order to see which team member I can choose for the task force I need to be able see quickly who has the least tasks in one or more projects. This means that I need to be able to make a plan where I see all the todos my team members are working on wihtin their respective plans. A master plan if you will that connects all plans of the respective members into one plan that is called resource management. Is that possible with MS Planner? Which Version do I need for that (Planner 1,3,5)? How does that work? Thank you!10Views0likes0CommentsCan I delete or reorder the un-used labels in Planner?
I noticed that there are a lot more color labels in Planner and picked the brighter colors that are lower in the drop-down list. When I use "Group By Labels" to view my planner according to these color labels, my tasks are listed way to the right end side of the board, with a bunch of empty color label columns I didn't use. I tried re-ordering and deleting those un-used color labels but I can't seem to find the features. This really defeats the purpose of adding all the new labels...37KViews20likes26CommentsIs there no way to 'Group by Bucket' in 'My Tasks' ?
This was already posted some time ago but nothing new....maybe i am just doing something wrong. However I see this functionality pretty important that one user can group its tasks somehow based on the content (bucket name) as several plans are identical in structure and in bucket name (eg. "PPAP"). So one user need easy way to filter out on GUI all tasks from PPAP bucket from all plans. Is there any workaround instead of doing new task view by myself?14Views0likes0CommentsIssues with Search Function for Existing Plans
Is anyone else having issues with finding/ locating existing plans since the Planner Update? We are finding many inconsistencies with people in our organisation being able to see in the plan list, and/ or find existing plans in the search function. For example, one worker cannot locate and existing plan but I can see the plan in my list or find in my search. We are a small organisation and we share all plans with all workers so access/ permissions to the plans is not the issue.10Views0likes1CommentPlanner Comments Notifications Resolved
Just created what i believe is a highly effective method to ensure Planner Comment Notifications work seamlessly. We're all familiar with the challenge of comments getting overlooked, especially when staff members haven't previously engaged with a particular task. My new Power Automate solution addresses this issue by sending emails (or you can switch to Teams if preferred) to everyone assigned to a task whenever a comment is posted. The email includes the comment itself and a link to the corresponding task. To adhere to best practices, I created the automation in my user account but set it up to automatically send from an admin@ account. This step isn't mandatory but is recommended, especially if you anticipate commenting on numerous tasks yourself as the automation "owner". I've uploaded a brief 20-second video demonstrating the functionality. I'd appreciate likes and comments, and I'm more than willing to share the solution. This automation is part of a larger course/solution package I'm developing. Other upcoming features include automatic assignment of unique project codes (you can catch a glimpse of it in the video), auto-assignment of staff based on labels (for instance, if your yellow label is labeled Marketing, it automatically assigns everyone in marketing when used), and more. I'm eager to hear your thoughts on the comment notification solution; I believe it's one of the most visually appealing solutions available. If want to access the comment notification just @mention me in the comments below.8.3KViews5likes36Comments@mentions in Microsoft Planner
Introducing @Mentions in Microsoft Planner: A Game-Changer for Task Management At No More Bad Mondays, we're all about making your workday smoother and more productive. Today, we're thrilled to share a solution that addresses a common pain point in Microsoft Planner: the lack of an @mention function in comments. We've developed a solution that enhances your commenting notification capabilities and ensures that your team stays informed and engaged. Here's how our new free download can transform your task management experience. The Challenge Microsoft Planner is an excellent task management tool, but it's been missing a feature that many users have been requesting: the ability to @mention team members within comments. Without this feature, reaching someone to update on a task can be challenging, especially when Planners standard notifications can sometimes be overlooked or in many cases, not actually reach them! The Solution Imagine you've assigned a task to your team and want to follow up with a specific member. You might comment, "How are you getting on with this one David?" but in Planner, this won’t notify David directly. That’s where our new Power Automate solution comes in. With our solution, when you add an @ in a Planner comment, the following happens: Teams Notification: The relevant staff member receives a Microsoft Teams notification with the comment you posted, including the task name and a direct link back to the task. Clean Communication: The @mention is automatically removed from the Teams message, keeping things neat and focused. Personal Touch: The notification is sent from the person who posted the comment, ensuring a personal touch. This solution not only improves comment notifications but also ensures that the right person is always aware when someone has left a comment on a task. How to Get Started Download the Solution: Grab our Power Automate solution for free. Configure: You'll need to update the solution to point to the relevant Plan you want to monitor. It will then work for all tasks within that Plan, old and new. Multi-Plan Use: Feel free to use it across multiple Plans within Microsoft Planner for comprehensive coverage. Hello, I'm just discovering the latest web version of planner. I would like the tasks to be synchronised with the outlook calendars of the resources for which tasks have been assigned. From what I've read, this was possible in previous versions. With this new version, I can't figure out how to do it. Does anyone have a solution? Hi everyone, Since the update on new planner I lost the "ability" of changing the date format from MM/DD to DD/MM only changing the "en-us" to "en-gb" in the address from the browser. Now the address changed and I'm suffering with this american date format. Any way to change this to DD/MM?Solved142Views0likes4CommentsTasks with hours
hello, In our company we are users of Office 365 and we want to manage projects through Planner. However, there is a very important feature that I think is missing, there is a way to control the time in hours that a project is taking to be developed. There is a kind of timer that starts, pauses and stops. In other words, we need to know at the end how many hours a project took. Is there a way to find out in Planner? As? From what I know, it is only possible to define an end date, a deadline. But as we can work on different projects on a daily basis, we end up not knowing how many hours a given project took. I appreciate the help. Patricia33Views0likes1CommentRevert to old Planner?
As of today, the new Planner version has been rolled out for our organisation. MS Planner is pretty much the most important tool for our project management. With the update, we can no longer copy plans without deleting all tags. In our organisation, the tags assign the responsible department to the respective tasks. This makes them extremely important. "Template Plan": Plan after we did a copy&paste: Even the Tags have to be renamed: Is there a way to revert to the old Planner? Is Microsoft aware of this problem?
