Re: Installing W10 on new laptop
To get back into your account as quickly as possible, try these basic troubleshooting steps: Verify that Caps Lock is turned off andyour email address is spelled correctly. Clear your browser history (here's howfor Microsoft Edgeandfor Internet Explorer). Try signing into your account from a different internet browser. If you can't remember your password or it's not working You can reset your Microsoft account password by following these steps: Go to theRecover your accountpage. Enter the email address, phone number, or Skype ID you used when you made your Microsoft account. This could be any email address, or an email ending in a Microsoft domain like hotmail . com or outlook . com. If you have security info on your account, we'll send a one-time code to the alternate phone number or email address you gave us. After you enter that code on the next screen, you'll be able to make a new password. Enter your new password, then selectNext.2.1KViews0likes1CommentRe: Update of my Windows 10

maxwell2k19 Your notebook is most likely stored onOneDrive, SharePoint or a local network location. When OneNote can't access these locations, it could be because of any of the following reasons: You may be experiencing intermittent, temporary network or server connectivity issues. Wait a few minutes and try syncing your notebooks manually. You can do this by pressing SHIFT+F9 or clicking theSync Nowbutton in theNotebook Sync Statusdialog box. The server where your notebooks are stored has gone offline temporarily. If you’re syncing to a SharePoint site or a local network share in your organization, someone may have turned the machine off or taken it down for maintenance. Check to see if you can access the root address of the server to verify the outage, or talk to your SharePoint or IT administrator to confirm or report the issue. Your notebook no longer exists at the network location. This could happen if you (or someone else with permissions to your notebook) deleted the notebook file from the server. If your notebook is stored onOneDrive for business, go to theOneDrive home page, log in (if prompted), and then check to see if your notebook still exists. If you’re unsure about where your notebook is stored, go toFile>Infoin OneNote 2013 to find the address of your notebook.1.7KViews0likes1CommentRe: Prevent First Time Run screen on Edge Beta

Glen Ringkøbing Jensen Prerequisite: Terminal application Source: Have the folder patch you want to sync with OneDrive ready or written notes Destination: Have the folder patch you want to store your local folders in OneDrive ready or written notes 5-10 minutes of your time. Open Terminal application: Press Command + Space, type “Terminal”, and then press “Enter” to open Terminal from Spotlight search. Or From the top right search icon type “Terminal” and then press “Enter” to open Terminal Or In Finder go to “Applications / Utilities / Terminal to launch it Type the following commend in the Terminal: ln -s /Users/username/Desktop /Users/username/”OneDrive – Company”/MBP Whereas “username” is your account name. Note there is a space between the first (source) and second (Destination) patch name. Notice also the bracket in “OneDrive – Company”, this is because OneDrive for Business may have your company name with spaces. If you type the path without the brackets, it won’t find it. So, add brackets if you have spaces in your path name. Another example with picture below. Once your Symbolic link is created, OneDrive will see the files/folders and start uploading the content. You simply have to continue working on your desktop, documents or any other folder and Onedrive will pick the files/folders and sync them149KViews0likes6CommentsRe: Outlook for Mac 2019 - Search not working :-(
splasch Hey, Try this any one of the approach mentioned below works for you on your Mac. Check Whether the Outlook Profile is Stored at the Default Location. Try to Install all Updates from Microsoft In this approach, open any of the applications offered by MS Office like Outlook, Word or Excel to troubleshoot “Mac Outlook 2019 search not working” error From the top menu bar, click the Help menu and select the Check for Updates option. Re-Index the Hard Drive in Spotlight Firstly, open the System Preferences and click on Mac Spotlight From the Search Results tab, make sure to tick Mail Messages option and select the Privacy tab Also, ensure that the Outlook profile or any one of its parent folder is not added to the Privacy tab Now, to eliminate the current index, from the desktop drag and drop the hard drive icon into the Spotlight to fix Mac Outlook 2019 search not working error At last, highlight the hard drive, which you recently added and remove it using the minus button. This will allow the Spotlight to create a new index Now, wait for some time until the spotlight indexing the drive is completed Once the indexing is done, restart the system and try to use the Outlook search to ensure it is working perfectly now. Execute Outlook 2019 Mac Search Troubleshooter If the above workarounds did not help you to fix Outlook 2019 Mac search not working issue, then try to run Microsoft Outlook Search Troubleshooter. For that, first you need to close the Outlook 2019 application, which is working on Mac OS and run Outlook Search Repair Troubleshooter. This will allow to fix the issue after which you can find the desired result quickly. Transfer Messages to New Outlook Folder Initially, launch Outlook application and create a new folder. For instance, Inbox-New1 in the Outlook profile Now, select and transfer all the messages to the newly created folder Once the messages are transferred, move back the emails to the original folder. This will enable Outlook to re-index the emails in order to show the search results After completing these steps, delete the temporary folder, which was created earlier. Re-Index the Search Database for Mac Outlook We all are aware that Mac Outlook uses OS X Spotlight to search the data from the mailbox. If in case the Spotlight index itself is damaged, then a user might encounter an error message i.e., Mac Outlook 2019 search not working. Under such instance, a user must re-index the Mac Outlook 2019 search database. To implement the same, follow the step-by-step process mentioned below, To begin with, first you need to restart Mac and navigate to Finder>> Applications>> Utilities>> Terminal and type mdimport -L If you find more than one MS Outlook Spotlight Importer. Mdimporter, then remove the Outlook profile, which is not in use. Also, try to delete it from the trash. Once it is done, restart the Mac machine and execute the first step Now, without closing the terminal window, launch Outlook and implement the search function. If the searching gives you the relevant results, then the problem is resolved. If not, then follow the below step From the terminal, re-index the Outlook database using the below command, mdimport -g "/Applications/Microsoft Outlook.app/Contents/Library/Spotlight/Microsoft Outlook Spotlight Importer.mdimporter" -d1 /Users//Library/Group\ Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook\ 15\ Profiles/Main\ Profile In the above command, the path after -g is the default Outlook path location and the path after -d1 is the default location of your profile. Here, you need to replace these paths with your actual path It will take some time for re-indexing. Once it is done restart Outlook. Delete and Reinstall Office for Mac Before executing these steps, copy your Outlook profile or Outlook data to any other location Then, uninstall Office 2016 for Mac and reinstall the same to solve Outlook 2019 Mac search not working error Now, open Mac Outlook and transfer the copied Outlook data using the Import command After that, follow the steps of Approach #6 from above so as to reindex the Outlook search database and implement the Outlook search function. Rebuild Spotlight Index and Troubleshoot Spotlight Permissions Launch the Terminal from Applications>> Utilities to fix Mac Outlook 2019 search not working issue Now, press Enter after typing each command as listed below, sudo mdutil -i off / sudo rm -rf /.Spotlight* sudo rm -rf /.metadata_never_index Restart the system and also type the below commands in the terminal sudo mdutil -i on / sudo mdutil -E Then, wait until the Spotlight reindexes the entire drive. Once the indexing is completed, try to use the MS Outlook search. Regards, Akshay Office 365 Admin | O365CloudExperts290KViews2likes10CommentsRe: Windows Update Failing
Tim Hunter If you’re technically savvy, you can try the steps below : 1. Click Start and start typing on your keyboard for "services.msc" 2. In your search results "services.msc" should show up. Open it with a click. 3. A new windows will open containing all Windows services on your system. 4.Search for "Windows Update" 5. Right-click the "Windows Update" and then click Stop. We will now clean the Windows Update temporary cache folder: 1. Hold your windows-key pressed and hit "R" key simultanous. 2. A small new windows will appear. 3. Type %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore in this new window and click OK. 4. This will open Windows Explorer on the correct location. 5. Delete all contents of this folder. (Hint: Use Ctrl + A to select all files and folders) Now we will start the Windows Update Service again: 1. Switch back to the windows Services. 2. Locate Windows Update. 3. Right-click on it and choose Start. If the problem still persists i would recommend you to switch to latest windows server 2019. Hope this helps17KViews0likes1CommentRe: Syncing Outlook Notes to IOS
Javert1969 Hi, If you are using the built-in mail app on your iPhone and setting up your Office 365 mailbox via Exchange ActiveSync, the Notes from Office 365 mail Exchange Online server can be synced to your iPhone. However, if you set up your Office 365 mailbox on to the iPhone via POP or IMAP, the Note will not sync from Office 365 mail server to your iPhone. Additionally, if you set up your Office 365 account into the Outlook for iOS, I'd suggest you contact the in-app support of Outlook for iOS for dedicated assistance since this forum mainly focuses on Office 365 Business Online services. Eugene_Khoo74 As you probably already know, the 16.16.8 update is now available and this problem has been fixed. If you have AutoUpdate set to automatically install updates, it is likely this update was automatically installed. If you have AutoUpdate set to manual updates, you can launch AutoUpdate from any Office application and choose Check for Updates from the Help menu. If none of your applications will open, you can download the update to AutoUpdate manually from this link, then install and run AutoUpdate, which will install the 16.16.8 fixed update to Microsoft Office 2016. I highly recommend that anyone affected launch AutoUpdate by going to the Help menu in any Office 2016 application and choosing Check for Updates. Remove your installation from Insider programs by unchecking the box that has you join the program. There will never be any future Insider builds of Office for Office 2016. The feature set of Office 2016 is not going to change, and there will never be any future Insider builds.939Views0likes0CommentsRe: Is January 15 still the official release date for the new Edge?
Microsoft is planning to release its Edge Chromium browser early next year with a new logo. The software maker is targeting January 15th as the release date for Edge Chromium, with availability for Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows 8, and macOS. Microsoft is releasing what it calls a “release candidate” , which should demonstrate most of the final work that will make it into the stable release in January.1.1KViews0likes2CommentsRe: What were the main reason(s) Microsoft chose Chromium over Firefox?
HotCakeX MS probably decided against it because: If they're doing this for better web compatibility, WebKit/Blink is the obvious choice, sadly. Some of Microsoft's web products don't fully support Firefox, but do support Chromium. Chromium is more easily embedded, which may help them put it into a UWP app and the UWP API. Chromium has a slightly more permissive license for MS to do proprietary things with it if they want to. Would've been nice though.12KViews2likes1CommentRe: Password prompt
gcell This typically happens when the user selects theKeep me signed-incheck box. For federated user accounts, the user name and passwords are not saved. This is because Integrated Windows Authentication can be used, which does not require the password. For a third-party federated identity provider that does not support Integrated Windows Authentication, the password is not available from CredMan, and therefore it must be prompted for. Here is the fix that you can try Start Registry Editor. Navigate to the following registry subkey: Office 2016 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity Office 2013 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Identity Right-click the entry, and then selectNew. Add a new DWORD value to the registry called NoDomainUser, and then set it to a value of 1. The registry entry alters the behavior for a federated user account so that the password is saved in CredMan.4.3KViews0likes1CommentRe: Outlook for iOS: cannot load or send attachments

What are those attachments except for PDF or Excel ( I assume that you have those apps installed as well ) Please do a test. Luis_Farinango It doesn’t really require a specific hardware. To run WVD client, you would need a Windows Cloud Desktop client where the client could be installed. The other way to connect would be through web client using any HTML5-capable browser. Note that the web client doesn't currently have mobile OS support.
