Re: OneDrive for Business - list view Threshold
ChrisWebbTech And yet I keep hitting the limitation on a daily basis on our M365 tenant, for both Team SharePoint Online and user's OneDrive(s). The only thing that works is splitting the data into an more and more folders. This is when attempting to generate a share link. And this is when attempting to rename the same folder.1.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Update / Modify Users Phone information on Exchange Online (PowerShell)
harveer singh Thanks for your input. I know you can go through the Azure ActiveDirectory (MSOnline) module, (or I guess the 2.0 version of it), but that also requires new admin roles permissions, scripting, testing, etc. What I'm trying to figure out is: Whether there is a way around this limitation (make it work in Exchange) Whether Microsoft has issued any notice for this change which is impacting our work-flows (out of curiosity, since I guess it won't help me much to know).11KViews0likes1CommentUpdate / Modify Users Phone information on Exchange Online (PowerShell)
I was trying to update our company user phones through the Exchange Online Module Set-User cmdlet. Something easy like: Set-User -Identity $_.Identity -Phone $_.BusinessPhone Set-User -Identity $_.Identity -MobilePhone $_.Mobile Until not so long ago, it worked without issues, but recently we are getting the error below, impossible to get through it (other parameters update without issues). Phone and Mobile Phone for users with Recipient Type Details "UserMailbox" cannot be updated in Exchange Online for security reason. Please do it in Azure Active Directory. The only other entry I've found on Google is this one, but it seems unrelated to our issues since both tenants I'm working with are "native" AAD/O365, never had any connection with any AD. Cutover migration failure due to users phone and mobile number - Microsoft Community Anyone knows a way around this ? Or do we now need to connect to the Azure modules to do it ? Also wonder when did this change happen, and whether Microsoft documented it somewhere.12KViews0likes4CommentsRe: create Org-Wide team from Root Tenant communication site
Just wanted to say I came here with the exact same intent, was disappointed to find out it isn't possible. I would say that "once you make an Org-Wide-Team", it's only natural wanting to make that team's SharePoint site your "Root Tenant Communication Site". Hope that option is coming soon.1KViews1like0CommentsRe: dynamic group based on domain join type
PatrickF11 I have the exact same issue all the time, and like you, I'm looking for a "dynamic rule", not something I need to manually set up anywhere. It seems that this is simply not possible right now with Intune/Azure, but it'd be certainly be a welcome addition. They could also extend it to simply add a field with the domain to which the device is joined. That way you could target not only AAD (as both of us seem to need), but also multiple domains (which still happens in some large organizations). Btw, the scenario I have is the same as you, needed it when migrating to AAD. By now, however, I've almost finished that migration, so I may not need it again. I did miss the capability to make such a dynamic group throughout the whole process though. In my case, I only had one AD (hybrid) and one AAD, so I kept manually maintaining the smallest one, using include/exclude rules to figure out the other automatically.41KViews2likes6CommentsRe: Create a Voting feature in a List?
Eric Adler That's exactly how I ended up on this thread, searching to get a way of doing it with the newly released Microsoft Lists. Unfortunately, it seems that is still not possible, nor there is a uservoice for Lists where we can post at this time (can't even find a user-feedback button for the Lists Web App). For what is worth, I've just opened a new user request on the Team's Lists App uservoice. User-voice template for Microsoft Lists – Microsoft Teams UserVoice I'm guessing though that the underlying problem is SharePoint Lists (over which Microsoft Lists is built upon), does not support the "voting" kind of field. Here is hope they'll add it at some point.26KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Data Connection Refresh Error
Guy Hunkin Just wanted to say that I have the same problem as the OP (meaning I'd like the same feature). I understand it's not working yet, hope you can get it soon. One of the cool usages I've always thought I'd want Teams Excel tabs to be is displaying "simple dashboards" based on Excel files. I guess there are smarter ways of doing that, but as of now we tend to build those using self-refreshing Queries (not even Power Query, just simple Excel to Excel Queries). Not being able to refresh those in Teams means the idea of the "simple dashboard" just fell into pieces.23KViews1like0CommentsRe: Set Default Sharing to "People with Existing Access"
I got it about the iteration with Powe Shell but, wouldn't you agree with me that's not something you'd like to do in a tenant with over 95 thousand teams and growing? (we do not restrict users capability to create them at this point).8.8KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Set Default Sharing to "People with Existing Access"
StephenRice I just went through the whole thread as my org (x10.000 users) is finally adopting O365. I was both : pleased to see the evolution from the original issue, but still disappointed not to have this setting available organization wide. For us, it is a no-brainer that's the one we want to default to, and having already over 90k teams created and growing, going to change the sharing properties of every site our employees can create is not really an option. Though I would welcome any advice if there is a way to automate such process. So anyway, just adding my +1 for all that want this to be available org-wide. Being able to do it through PowerShell would be just fine (although a GUI change is always welcome). Thank you in advance.8.9KViews1like4CommentsRe: Cannot view embedded stream video full screen
R. Jong I guess this comes way too late for you, but I have opened a couple of feedback items on the OneNote user-voice. It seems that is the less used of all Office user-voices, so maybe Microsoft ain't doing much over there, but I'd guess that it won't harm voting if you want the feature: Suggestion for OneNote Desktop Suggestion for OneNote Online DanielRe: Cannot view embedded stream video full screen
Marc Mroz Are you sure? Because even if it's been a long time since people asked this question, I've tried right now with the latest stable Edge build and still have the issue pointed out by the OP. Exactly the same behaviour on OneNote Desktop 2006. This is so disappointing. Had been waiting for my company to adopt Office365 for ages, and this one of the cool things I was hoping being able to do with OneNote, but without full-screen support the whole thing is pretty useless for my use-cases.Re: Edge Chromium's URL bar randomly appear inside web app
Hrcorl Same here (Japan), and pretty much everywhere else outside the USA. For myself, I solved it using a VPN (which others have suggested). I have a top tier paid one, but there are plenty of free ones (including Opera's browser's built-in one) which should work for this "one time setting". I agree with others though, into that shouldn't be something to recommend to just "everyone", and that this is an issue because "Netflix" is pretty much the first web anyone is going to try installing as an App (since it works so much better than the Native Windows App...). cezarcretu Thank you for the follow up. Unfortunately, I don't have the required admin rights on this tenant (which is in Japan, btw), but I will pass the info gathered here to the relevant instances, and hopefully they can get it fixed.6.4KViews0likes1CommentRe: Touchback not working with USB-C display (Surface Hub 2S)
cezarcretu Actually, after so much testing on complicated scenarios, I have just discovered that Touch-back is simply not working at all. I always had the USB-C plugged when using Miracast, so I thought that's how I was getting pen & touchback, but I just didn't know Miracast could do that without USB. So in the end, I'll sum up my issue by: Touchback Host seems properly installed on the Hub2S (tried removing it and enabling it again) Touchback Guest properly installs on a wide array of devices, but only when using the Compute Module USB-C (none of the other ports react) There is no touch nor pen input no matter how I connect those devices. Tried : Both with the USB-C single cable and with HDMI display + USB-C for touchback on the compute module). A Surface Pro 7 on W10 1903, Lenovo T490S on 1909, and Intel NUK 10th gen on 2004 A total of 3 different USB-C cables of the right spec. I'd guess there are only three possibilities left: There is an issue with both of the Hubs we got. Our IT guys applied some Group Policy which is blocking the touch functionality (probably unintended) The hub is missing some driver updates that might not be delivered because of WSUS policy) I'd love to know if there is an easy way to find out the cause.6.4KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Touchback not working with USB-C display (Surface Hub 2S)
cezarcretu I tried quite a few more things on the Surface Pro 7 (W10 1903) today. Please see the attached screenshots but, in short: Yes, I am connecting the USB-C cable on the Compute Module, since there is no video (at all) on any other connector. I know the Hub 2S is supposed to be 4K@30Hz, but using the recommended resolution which is automatically identified by any device I've tried (3672 x 2448), it sets up at 60Hz (and you can tell by the responsivity that it's indeed 60Hz) When using the maximum available resolution (3840 x 2560) then it goes at 30Hz. I can't get touch-pen to work no matter which resolution I use when using the USB-C Gen2 cables linked before, despite the Surface Hub being properly recognized (or so I believe, please check the attachments). If I connect through Miracast, and then use the USB-C cable for Pen-Touch, then it works without problems. On a very weird procedure, after connecting through Miracast + lateral USB-C I tried hot-unplugging the USB-C cable from a lateral connector and pugging it into the Compute Module, without disconnecting Miracast. In that case, it seemed that the screen switched to USB-C and I was finally getting Video+Touch&Pen, but settings became very unstable (resolution was not properly detected) and I'm not sure if it wasn't simply misreporting the input device. I'll try a bit more tomorrow on the Miracast-to-USB-C switch, out of curiosity, and even if this is certainly not how I expected the expensive Hub 2S to behave. It should really be plug & play for it to make sense. I keep wondering if there isn't any software/firmware update that our IT might be blocking out of ignorance... Would appreciate if you have any info on that area.6.5KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Touchback not working with USB-C display (Surface Hub 2S)
cezarcretu One last question, on top of my previous question on the particular cable you linked. I have noticed that the relevant docs.microsoft website lists the maximum resolution being 4K@30Hz, whereas all the devices are mentioned were outputing 4k@60Hz through the USB-C connection. Could it be that touch&pen back don't work when using 60Hz ?6.5KViews0likes6Comments
