Re: Curious- Are you allowing all users to create O365 groups or limiting self-service creation?
We recently (within the last month) enabled self service creation. When every group is created we append the prefix "Group - " to the group name. We are looking forward to the Groups expiration feature that Microsoft mentioned at Ignite to deal with the problem of Groups that become unused.Re: ROLLING OUT: SharePoint Online team sites + Office 365 Groups & Pages
I've been testing the new modern pages and I'm very excited for the potential. However I'm disappointed that the amount of web parts in the toolbox is very limited at this time. When this was demoed during the Future of SharePoint event, https://youtu.be/0NyxhMlIGeA?t=3454, many awesome web parts where in the toolbox, but I don't have access to very many of those web parts now. Also in the blog post, it appeared I was going to be able to embed a Yammer group on my modern page easily, but I'm not seeing that option. How soon will the web part toolbox gain more web part choices? Can't you use the new search capabilities on the SharePoint home page to search across all the modern team sites (Office 365 Groups) you belong to/have access to? It's my understanding that if you're not a member of those groups you won't see them in Delve or SharePoint search because when you're not a member of a private group, you do not have permission to view the associated SharePoint site. Because Delve and the new SharePoint search is security trimmed according to existing permissions, you won't see those group sites that you are not a member of. You would be better off going to Outlook Web Access and clicking Discover and search the group directory there.
