Re: You no longer receive messages sent to Office 365 'Groups' that you are a member of
Update (7/25/2018): Thanks for all your feedback and sharing your concerns. Our mission is to help you be more productive at your work, and some users complained about their workflows being affected with this change. Based on the feedbackwe've seen from our users on this post, weare working on making this option configurable for our users. We are adding a switch which can be toggled by the user to start receiving their sent emails to Groups back in their inbox. The exact details on how this setting can be used and the timeline for this change will be communicated soon. Thanks for your patience.46KViews2likes35CommentsRe: Introducing 'Follow in inbox' and other improvements for managing group emails in Outlook
HiWaseem Qureshi - thanks for looking into this feature. "Question: if you read the item from your Inbox (not from Group mailbox), the status would get changed to Read or in Group the status would remain Unread?" Short answer to this is: Not yet. But we are working towards correcting this behavior so that if you Read a message in your Inbox, that message would also be marked as Read in the Group's shared space. Long Answer - at the moment, the Groups shared space does not have the capability to mark a message as "Read". We currently mark the whole conversation as "Seen" as soon as you visit the Group and navigate away from it. That is the reason why the count in your left navigation pane against that group goes back to 0 every time you navigate away from the group. Good news is that we are working towards changing that behavior and soon you would be able to mark an individual message as Read inside the Groups shared space! The work to sync Inbox and Groups shared space would be done post that. So please be patient and expect that coming your way soon. "Same for the reply, if you reply from your Inbox, the reply will appear as a thread under Group mailbox?" Yes. Any email with a group in To: or Cc: line would be added to the Group mailbox.3.5KViews1like4CommentsRe: Can you configure something so that a member of a group does not receive notifications?

HiBrent Ellis- first up, let me apologize for the poor experience you've had with O365 Groups. I sincerely regret the inconvenience caused to your organization because of this. Let me assure you that we have a very high bar for quality atMicrosoft and Outlook, and we do not take customer issues like these lightly. The issue you describe looks like abug in the product, which we need to identify and resolve at the earliest. But first, we would need some more information from you to understand the cause of this issue. Can you please send across the group's email address, and the email address of the user who missed the meeting? You can send it to me directly via a private message. Once we have this information, we will find the root cause and fix it. (I can see that you've filed a ticket already, but sending us this information might lead to a faster resolution of this issue) You've been a highly valued member of our community and I'd request you to please bear with us for a bit while we resolve this issue. Nicholas Williams- No, there is no effect to group subscription options with this change. Subscribed users will continue to receive all group conversations, messages and events in their inbox as usual. The only effect of this change will be on the sender of the messages to groups as below. Old behavior I send a message to a group, or reply back to a message from a group. Message is delivered to the group and is available in the group's conversation archive. I would also receive my message in back my inbox. Revised behavior I send a message to a group, or reply back to a message from a group. Message is delivered to the group and is available in the group's conversation archive. I would NOT receive my message in back my inbox. Would be great if you can help us understand why your users are complaining with this change? What additional benefit does it provide to users when they receive their sent email back again in their inbox? Is it just a confirmation that the message was delivered to the group?111KViews4likes6Comments
