Armenia Economic Growth Quickens in September
Armenia’s economic activity grew at a faster 7% year-on-year in September 2024, after a 5.6% rise in the previous month. Notable growth was observed in construction (+14.7%), trade (+13.4%), and the services sector, excluding trade (+11.6%). The industrial sector (+4.6%) also contributed positively. On a monthly basis, economic activity expanded by 6.6%, accelerating from a 5.6% advance in the preceding period. Considering January to September, economic activity rose by 8.7% over a year ago.

Armenia Economic Growth Eases in August
Armenia’s economic activity growth eased further to 5.6% year-on-year in August 2024, down from a 6.2% growth in the previous month. The slowdown was driven by a softer increase in the construction (16.5%vs 17.7%) and industry sector (2.1% vs 2.2%). Meanwhile, activity rose faster for the trade (14.9% vs 14%) and services sector, excluding trade (9.5% vs 4.9%). On a monthly basis, economic activity advanced 7.2%, accelerating from a 5.6% gain in the preceding period. Considering January to August, economic activity expanded 9%.

Armenia Economic Growth Slows in July
Armenia’s economic activity growth eased to 6.2% year-on-year July 2024, down from a revised 7% expansion in the previous month. The slowdown was attributed to a softer increase for the services sector, excluding trade (4.9% vs 7.8% in June), construction (17.7%vs 18%), trade (14% vs 16.2%), and industry (2.2% vs 1.3%). On a monthly basis, economic activity went up 5.6%, slowing from a revised 11.1% growth in the prior period. Considering January to July, economic activity expanded 9.6%.
