Croatia Industrial Production Shrinks
Industrial production in Croatia decreased 2% year-on-year in October 2024, following a 1% rise in September. The output decreased in manufacturing (-1.7% vs 1%), namely basic metals (-26.3%), wearing apparel (-24.9%), leather products (-16.1%) and computer, electronic and optical (-15.1%). Production also declined for utilities (-2% vs -5.6%) and slowed for the mining sector (0.4% vs 18%), particularly extraction of crude oil and natural gas (2.1% vs 31.8%).

Croatia Industrial Production Rebounds in September
Industrial production in Croatia rose 1% year-on-year in September 2024, rebounding from a 2.1% fall in the previous month. Output recovered for manufacturing (1% vs -2.5% in August), while it surged for mining and quarrying (18.1% vs 2.4%). Meanwhile, output continued to fall for electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply (-5.6% vs -2.2%). On a monthly basis, industrial production increased 5.8% in September, rebounding sharply from a 4.6% drop in the previous month.

Croatia Industrial Production Drop in August
Industrial production in Croatia fell 2.1% year-on-year in August 2024, returning to contraction, from a downwardly revised 1.6% growth in the previous month. Output tumbled for manufacturing (-2.5% vs 2.7% in July), attributed to lower output of manufacture of tobacco products (-46.9% vs -35.2%), leather and related products (-20.8% vs -8.3%), and coke and refined petroleum products (-13.2% vs -1.4%). At the same time, production declined for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (-2.2% vs 0.4%). Meanwhile, output increased for mining & quarrying (2.4% vs -5.1%). On a monthly basis, industrial activity dropped by 4.6%, from a downwardly revised 6.2% gain in July.
