Sales growth decelerated for non-food products (12.4% vs 17.6% in September) and sales excluding automotive fuels & lubricants (8.2% vs 8.8%). Meanwhile, sales went up for food, beverages and tobacco (5.1% vs 0.5%), automotive fuels & lubricants (6.8% vs 5.4%), and via internet or via mail (2.8% vs -0.2%). Croatia Retail Sales Growth Slows in August
Retail sales in Croatia increased by 5.7% year-on-year in August 2024, slowing from a downwardly revised 7.8% rise in the previous month. Sales growth decelerated for non-food products (7.3% vs 12.9% in July). Additionally, sales via internet or via mail order dropped significantly (-24.4% vs -2.5%). Meanwhile, sales went up for food, beverages and tobacco (5.9% vs 5.6%) and automotive fuels and lubricants (8.2% vs 3.5%). On a monthly basis, retail sales fell by 0.7% in August, following a downwardly revised 1.4% gain in July.
