This marks the highest reading in four periods, driven by a sharp rise in costs for mining and quarrying (3.3% vs. 1% in November) and manufacturing (1.9% vs. 1.1%), particularly in wood processing, wood product production, machinery and equipment repair, and food production. Meanwhile, costs for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply dropped at a slower pace (-8.3% vs. -16.8%), while producer inflation remained unchanged for water supply (9.9%). On a monthly basis, the PPI rose by 0.4%, following a 0.4% decline in the preceding period.
