Retail sales in Hungary increased by 4.1% year-on-year in November 2024, accelerating from a 3.6% rise in the previous month. This also marked the twelfth consecutive month of growing retail activity and the strongest since August, as sales rose faster for food, beverages & tobacco (5.3% vs 4.8% in October), non-food products (4.5% vs 3.3%). At the same time, trade rebounded for automotive fuel (1.3% vs -0.1%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail sales grew by 0.6%, easing from a 1.3% gain in October.
