The number of unemployed people rose by 20 thousand compared to the same period a year earlier to 231 thousand. Of this total, 120 thousand were men, with their unemployment rate up to 4.6%, while 111 thousand were women and their unemployment rate was 4.8%. The average time spent looking for a job was 11.6 months, with 49% of all unemployed people had been looking for a job for less than 3 months and 33.1% for at least a year.
