Industrial output in Jordan expanded by 3.41% year-on-year in September 2024, accelerating from a 1.31% rise in the previous month. It marked the third consecutive month of growth in industrial production and the fastest pace since October 2022, boosted by faster rises in the production of manufacturing (3.35% vs 0.80% in August) while rebounding in electricity output (0.71% vs -0.82%). Meanwhile, mining and quarrying activity moderated (7.46% vs 12.91%). On a monthly basis, industrial production shrank by 1.17% in September, the first decline in five months, reversing from a 0.19% growth in August. Considering the first nine months of 2024, industrial output increased 0.48% compared to the same period in 2023.

Industrial output in Jordan grew by 1.31% year-on-year in August 2024, after rising 0.63% in the previous month. It marked the second consecutive month of expansion in industrial production and the fastest pace since April, driven by faster rises in the production of manufacturing (0.80% vs. 0.23% in July) and mining and quarrying activity (12.91% vs. 11.25%). Simultaneously, electricity production contracted at a slower rate (-0.82% vs. -2.38%). On a monthly basis, industrial production rose by 0.19% in August, the fourth straight month of expansion but the softest pace in the sequence, after a 1.29% gain in July. Considering the first eight months of 2024, industrial output edged up 0.11% compared to the same period in 2023.
