Jordan Producer Prices Drop the Most in 11 Months
Producer prices in Jordan shrank by 2.11% year-on-year in October 2024, following a 0.43% decrease in the previous month, marking the second consecutive month of deflation. This also represented the steepest fall in producer prices since November 2023, driven by sharper declines in manufacturing costs (-2.18% vs -1% in September 2024). Additionally, costs for mining and quarrying (-0.77% vs 7.9%) and electricity (-2.32% vs 1.4%) both dropped after recording increases in the previous month. For the first ten months of 2024, producer prices decreased by 0.48%. On a monthly basis, the producer prices fell by 1.28% in October, reversing a 0.1% rise in the prior month.

Jordan Producer Prices Fall in September
Producer prices in Jordan fell by 0.43% in September 2024, down from a 0.66% increase in the previous month, marking the first deflation since April this year. Costs fell for manufacturing (-1% vs 1% in August 2024), while prices rebounded for mining & quarrying (7.9% vs -5.1%) and increased at a higher rate for electricity (1.4% vs 1.1%). On a monthly basis, the PPI increased by 0.1% in September, following a 0.3% fall in the prior month.
