Jordan Unemployment Rate Steady at 21.4% in Q1
The jobless rate in Jordan was steady at 21.4% in the first quarter 2024, still marking the lowest jobless rate since the first quarter of 2020. The unemployment rate continued to fall for men (17.4% vs 18.9% in Q4) while it climbed for women (34.7% vs 29.7%). Among the unemployed in Jordan, 37.9% have less than a secondary education, 61.5% have a secondary certificate or higher, and 25.8% possessed university degrees. The highest unemployment rate was recorded in Mafraq at 23.4%, while the lowest was in Jarash at 18.4%.
