Latvia Retail Sales Drop in October
Latvia’s retail sales fell by 0.1% year-on-year in October 2024, after a 0.2% rise in the previous month. Retail trade in food products continued to fall but to a lesser extent (-1.7% vs -2.8% in September). At the same time, sales rose at a slower pace for non-food products, except automotive fuel (0.5% vs 0.8%) and automotive fuel (1.6% vs 4%). On a monthly basis, retail sales grew by 0.5% in October, rebounding from a 0.3% drop in September.

Latvia Retail Trade Growth Cools Down
Latvia’s retail trade rose by 0.2% year-on-year in September 2024, following a downwardly revised 0.6% increase in the prior month. Sales increased for non-food products, except automotive fuel (+0.5%), but declined for food (-2.6%) and automotive fuel (-4.9%). On a monthly basis, retail sales fell by 0.3% in September, after a downwardly revised 0.2% increase in the prior month.
