This marked the softest expansion in industrial activity since last October, due to a moderation in manufacturing growth (3.7% vs 5.8% in December), with output rising for electrical & electronic products (7.2%), petroleum, chemical, rubber & plastic products (4.2%), and food, beverages & tobacco products (7.0%). Additionally, output contracted in electricity (-0.1% vs 3.5%) and mining & quarrying (-3.1% vs 0.9%) mainly due to lower crude oil & condensate production (-10.0%).
