Pakistan Consumer Confidence
In Pakistan, Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) covers households’ perceptions relative to the last six months and their expectations for the next semester, including personal financial conditions, overall economy, unemployment and consumption of durable goods. The index is based on the stratified random telephone survey of more than 1600 households across Pakistan. The survey is conducted by the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) every two months since January of 2012.

The consumer confidence indicator in Pakistan fell to 34.9 in November 2024, down from a four-month high of 35.5 in October. Sentiments softened regarding current economic conditions (33.6 vs 34.5 in October), expected economic conditions (36.2 vs 36.6), and financial conditions over the next six months (41.3 vs 41.7). In addition, concerns about unemployment over the next six months were higher (72.3 vs 70.8). Meanwhile, inflation expectations rose (70.5 vs 68.5), driven by higher anticipated inflation for food (69.9 vs 69.4) and energy (72.0 vs 70.7).
