The growth was primarily driven by increased sales of all the leading export commodities, namely; parts of electronic product (8.6%), information, communication and audio-video products (16%), base metals and articles of base metal (3.4%), machinery (1.3%), and plastic and rubber and articles thereof (3.4%). Among major trading partners, exports soared to ASEAN countries (27.8%), South Korea (21.1%), and the USA (16%). However, exports dropped to Japan (-20.1%) and Europe (-15.7%). Exports from Taiwan grew 9.7% from a year earlier to USD 41.09 billion in November 2024 from 8.4% gain in the previous month, surpassing market expectations of 8% rise. The growth was primarily driven by increased sales of parts of electronic product (14.6%), information, communication and audio-video products (11.7%) and plastics and rubber and articles thereof (9.1%). Among major trading partners, exports soared to South Korea (40.3%), USA (10.6%), and the ASEAN countries (10.5%). However, exports declined to Japan (-11.2%) and Europe (-1.2%). Considering January to November of 2024, exports were registered at USD 431.5 billion, a 9.9% higher compared to the same period last year.

Taiwan Exports Growth Less Than Forecasts
Exports from Taiwan grew 8.4% from a year earlier to USD 41.3 billion in October 2024, accelerating from a 4.5% rise in the previous month, albeit missing the market expectations of 9% gain. The upturn was mainly attributed to increases in exports of information, communication and audio-video products (28%), base metals and articles of base metals (6.2%), parts of electronic products (6.1%), and machinery (1.5%). However, sales declined for plastic and rubber and articles thereof (-6.6%). Among major trading partners, exports soared to South Korea (21.4%), followed by the USA (20.5%), and the ASEAN countries (13.1%). Considering January to October of 2024, exports were registered at USD 390.42 billion, a 10% higher compared to the same period last year.
