Industrial production in Taiwan climbed 10.29% in November 2024 from a downwardly revised 8.81% gain in the previous month. Output accelerated for manufacturing (10.73% vs 9.3% in October), while decreased at a softer pace for electricity and gas supply (-0.54% vs -2.5%). On the other hand, output eased for water supply (1.24% vs 4.45%) and continued to fall for mining and quarrying (-7.82% vs -2.6%). Taiwan Industrial Output Growth Eases in October
Industrial production in Taiwan eased to 8.85% year-on-year in October 2024, slowing from a downwardly revised 11.15% gain in the previous month. It marked the softest growth in industrial production since March, as output slowed for manufacturing (9.32% vs 11.99% in September) and slipped for mining and quarrying (-2.48% vs 2.49%). Meanwhile, production decreased at a softer pace for electricity and gas supply (-1.55% vs -5.59%) and accelerated notably for water supply (4.4% vs 1.88%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production tumbled 1.32% in October 2024 from 0.09% rise in the prior month.
