The number of tourist arrivals in Bulgaria increased by 4.6% year-on-year to 1.26 million in September 2024, following a 2.8% growth in the previous month. An increase in trips with all observed purposes was registered: professional (9.2%), holiday and recreation (7.1%), and with other purposes (1.3%). The EU constituted 48.6 % of the total visits to Bulgaria, with Romania (30.7%) being the leading contributor, followed by Germany (17%), Greece (14.8%), and Poland (11.1%). Meanwhile, arrivals from other European countries accounted for 40.6% of the total, mainly from Turkey (40.8%).
