The Central Bank of Chile’s Imacec economic activity index rose by 2.5% from the previous year in January of 2025, slowing from the three-year high growth rate of 6.6% in the previous month but marking the seventh consecutive period of economic expansion reflected by the index. Activity grew sharply but still slowed for commerce (8.4% vs 10.6%) and manufacturing production (7.4% vs 10.1%), although output declined for mining production (-p.3% vs 15.1%).
