Economic activity in Mexico rose by 0.5% from the previous year in November of 2024, slowing from an upwardly revised 0.8% advance in October and missing market forecasts of a 0.6% increase. Still, this marked the fifth consecutive period of growth in Mexican economic activity, mainly supported by services (+1.6% vs 2.7% in October) and agricultural activity (+0.2% vs -4.8%). Conversely, the industrial sector continued to contract (-1.4% vs -2.1%), led by mining (-4.7% vs -6.6%), construction (-4.2% vs -8.4%) and manufacturing (-0.2% vs +0.6%), counterbalancing growth in utilities (+2.9% vs +1.2%).
