Pakistan Consumer Confidence
In Pakistan, Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) covers households’ perceptions relative to the last six months and their expectations for the next semester, including personal financial conditions, overall economy, unemployment and consumption of durable goods. The index is based on the stratified random telephone survey of more than 1600 households across Pakistan. The survey is conducted by the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) every two months since January of 2012.

This marked the highest consumer morale since June, as all sentiments improved: current economic conditions (34.4 vs 29.0 in September) and expected economic conditions (36.6 vs 32.9) both reached a four-month high. A similar trend was seen for the outlook on financial conditions over the next 6 months, rising to a four-month high (41.7 vs 37.8). Meanwhile, inflation expectations eased to their lowest in four months (68.5 vs 73.4), driven by lower expected inflation for food (69.4 vs 73.0) and energy (70.7 vs 75.0). Additionally, concerns about unemployment over the next 6 months declined to a five-month low (70.8 vs 75.4).

Sentiments were barely changed for current economic conditions(29.0 vs 29.1 in August) and expected economic conditions (32.9 vs 33.0).
