Serbia Producer Inflation Up to 2.3%
Serbia's producer price inflation accelerated to 2.3% year-on-year in January 2025, the highest in six months abd up from 1.2% in December, driven by a rebound in energy costs (1.8% vs -0.7%) and intermediate goods (0.8% vs 0.0%). Capital goods prices also rose at a faster pace (6.3% vs 4.6%), while the decline in durable consumer goods costs slowed (-1.0% vs -1.6%). In contrast, inflation for non-durable consumer goods eased to 2.8% from 3.2% in December. On a monthly basis, producer prices increased by 1.3% in January after remaining flat in December.

Serbia Producer Prices Rise for 3rd Month
Producer prices in Serbia rose by 1.2% year-on-year in December 2024, up from a 0.7% increase in the previous month. This marked the third consecutive month of rising producer prices, driven by higher costs for manufacturing (1% vs 0.3 in November) and a sharp rebound in prices for mining and quarrying (3.9% vs -0.3%). Meanwhile, prices remained steady for electricity, gas, steam and air condition supply (at 1.1%) as well as water supply; sewerage, waste management & remediation activities (at 9.3%). On a monthly basis, producer prices showed no growth in December, following a 0.2% rise in November.
