Seychelles Inflation Rate Eases to 3-Month Low
The annual inflation in Seychelles slowed to 0.97% in January 2025 from 1.71% in December 2024. Main downward pressure came from food items excluding fresh fish (2.46% vs 3.88% in December) and non-food products (0.74% vs 1.43%). In addition, prices rebounded for fish (1.55% vs -0.88%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.16% in January 2025, reversing from a 0.32% gain in the previous month.

Seychelles Inflation Rate Picks Up Pace for 2nd Month
The annual inflation rate in Seychelles accelerated for the second month to 1.71% in December 2024, the highest since January 2023, up from 1.34% in the prior month. Upward pressure came mostly from food items excluding fresh fish (3.88% vs 0.42% in November), notably vegetables (31.41% vs 3.22%), and also non-food products (1.43% vs 1.56%). At the same time, prices fell much less for fresh fish (-0.88% vs -3.85%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.32% in December, following a 0.52% increase in the previous month.
