Tourist arrivals in Slovenia rose by 11.5% year-on-year to 471,735 in October 2024, recovering from a 1% decline in the previous month. The number of domestic tourists increased by 3.4% to 132,898, while foreign tourists surged by 15% to 338,837. Most foreign visitors came from Germany (+17.6%), Austria (+6.1%), Italy (+18.5%), Croatia (+3.8%), and the US (+23%). Meanwhile, overnight stays increased by 7.5% to 1,122,114, with the number of tourist overnight stays rising in spa resorts (+7%), mountain resorts (+7.4%), seaside resorts (+2.6%), and the capital (+15.6%).

Slovenia's Tourist Arrivals Drop in September
Tourist arrivals in Slovenia dropped by 1% year-on-year to 660,855 in September 2024, slipping from an 18.2% rise in the previous month. The number of domestic tourists shrank by 16.1% to 125,734, while foreign tourists rose by 3.3% to 535,121. Most foreign visitors came from Germany (20.2% of the total), followed by Austria (7.8%) and US (6.3%). Meanwhile, Slovenia saw 1,601,406 overnight stays in September, marking a 0.4% increase compared to a year earlier. The highest number of tourists overnight stays was recorded in mountain resorts (31.1% of the total), seaside resorts (21.2%), spa resorts (15.5%), and the capital (16.8%).
