Regular pay in the UK which excludes bonuses, increased 4.8% year-on-year to GBP 651/week in the three months to September 2024, a new low since June 2022, following a 4.9% rise in the previous period and slightly higher than market estimates of 4.7%. The figure was in line with the Bank of England's forecast published in November. Wage growth steadied at the private sector (4.8%) but continued to slowdown at the public one (4.7% vs 5.2%).
