Nonfarm business sector labor productivity in the United States rose by 2.2% in the third quarter of 2024, the most so far this year, and in line with the preliminary estimate. It follows a 2.1% increase in Q2. Output and hours worked were also unrevised, increasing 3.5% and 1.2% respectively. Both the business sector and manufacturing sector experienced widespread productivity gains, at 1.7% and 0.9%, respectively.
