I've just switched to ABG consolidating two landlord policies under one roof. Early days but so far a very positive experience- it makes a refreshing change to have a named individual to deal with (who is also human not a bot!) with a direct dial number and who picks the phone up (or gets back promptly) when I call! So many companies nowadays do anything but.

The insurance of our properties had changed slightly, but trying to explain that to support person proved difficult. We never felt like she understood, so were worried if we were insured properly. We eventually got there, but it took 3 phones calls from Australia to sort it out, plus quite a few emails, so it was a more difficult than we would have liked.

I transferred to ABG several years ago and have had a very positive experience throughout. They found me a much less expensive policy, reminders of renewal have been timely, and the one issue so far (a mistaken claim from another company) they sorted promptly and thoroughly. All my contacts with them - phone and email - have been friendly and helpful. I am very happy to continue with them as my brokers.

They give you ample to time to look over your chosen policy, and they are good at being competitive with their pricing; however they got important details wrong on my policy, but this was quickly rectified.

We've insured our self-drive hire business with Alan Boswell for the last couple of years due to their simple hiring process and competitive pricing. We never needed to make a claim so hard to judge how good they would've been to deal with for that, however communication the rest of the time has been pretty awful. When we came to cancel our policy due to closing the business it took 2 weeks to hear how much a refund would've been and then almost another week to actually get the money back in our account. We had other insurance with other brokers who told us instantly how much the refund would be (and they were also only brokers, which was AB excuse) and we had the money back in our account within 3 days of asking to cancel.

I tried twice to renew my insurance, but kept getting kicked out, as I took too long, as I am a techno phobe. So rang up and spoke to a very nice lady - Alison, who talked me through the whole process, so renewed by insurance and will carry on for another year. I was that close to shutting down my business. So thank you Alison.

Received reasonable renewal quote for home building and contents and needed to include recent purchase of hearing aids
Was given provisional quote and asked to ring back when aids in possession for serial numbers etc
Week later and duly equipped with information required renewed and paid in the one phone call
Most efficient as usual

I can only comment on the renewal process of my landlord's building/contents/rent guarantee insurance policies. I have not made claims on any of these so do not know how efficient or co-operative their services are. The price and scope of these polices are very competitive and the process to purchase was made very easy by the staff.

I have used Alan Boswell for my therapist insurance for many years. The whole process is very easy and they insure for the whole range of therapies that I practise. It is easy to add an additional one if you do further qualifications. The communication is excellent and the insurance is good value.
