Worst Company ever to deal with, we can't all be wrong, 1.3 on Trust pilot?

I have travel insurance as part of my banking with RBS. They have swithched Compay to Allianz, the previous Company were great to deal with. A claim was made early July and after hours and hours of phone calls, emails and endless promises of call backs which never happend it has just been paid. This has to be the worst Company ever to deal with, looking at the reviews we cant all be wrong?
I have been with my bank for 20+ years and this is the last year I will switch to Virgin who offer the same benifit of travel insurance with your account.

Allianz insurance through Lloyds - disreputable and untrustworthy

I have Allianz insurance through Lloyds and have had it for decades. When my flight was recently cancelled for a holiday, I called them to discuss options and made a claim on their advice. In the end my claim was rejected and neither flights, hotels or additional transport costs were covered. What on earth was I paying travel insurance for? Utterly disreputable and untrustworthy! Shameful.

Won’t recommend

I bought their travel insurance for my Eurostar ticket, and they send an email saying “To cancel, please just please call … and as long as you haven’t started your journey, made a claim or intend to make a claim, we’ll arrange a full refund.”
But in fact they have a 14 day cooling off period so if it’s past this period they won’t give you a full refund. I understand that there’s a cooling off period but then why would you say full refund is available before the trip? That’s just straight up lying and I won’t be buying any insurance from a company I can’t trust at all.

Easy to buy impossible to claim

Easy to buy, hard to claim with Allianz. I sent them six medical invoices for emergency gp, hospital and pharmacy. Not a huge claim maybe €200. They said they would pay after i sent originals to FR social security/CPAM, and copies to my FR mutual. The govt insurer never replies but Allianz would not pay without a reply from the social security. They just didn't reply to my email with the invoices attached. I just bought a policy with them yesterday and then cancelled after finding evidence of my previous bad experience. Credit card payment. They say the refund could take 10 days!

The worst experience in my life

The worst experience in my life! Please don’t waste your money with them! I had a small accident in Miami, tried to keep in touch with the 24/7 medical assistance and nobody reply, I sent an email and nobody reply. I had to pay upfront for receiving assistance and now I’m claiming the expenses but they don’t want to cover it just because I didn’t speak with them before to go to the hospital. Please be aware from this company!

I have been dealing with Brandon…

I have been dealing with Brandon Smith-Killworth at Allianz regarding a claim and I have been thoroughly unimpressed by the way he has dealt with the matter.Allianz align with our bank,Coutts, to offer travel insurance. I won't bore you with the details but Allianz seem more focused on wriggling out of paying than keeping customers happy. We are talking about a £1500 claim and instead of paying us Allianz have offered £500 as compensation for the dreadful way the matter has been dealt with. They have admitted in writing they have made mistakes and apologised for their wrongdoing. However an apology is a cop out and costs nothing.I have had my time wasted and been treated badly.Coutts should be embarrassed by their association with an outfit like Allianz.
NB I have given one star only because there is no opportunity to give no stars.

Should not be in business

2024/0807746
Paid deposit £150 for a Warners Holiday with Grand UK Holidays took out insurance but decided to cancel as my husband has CKD and wasn’t well enough to go as now in stage 5.
Contacted insurance company who finally offered £50 which I disagreed with but they don’t want to know stopped excepting emails and when I try to phone I get cut off. Do not touch this company they are disgraceful shouldn’t be allowed to sell insurance.

Allianz seems to not adhere to your policy’s…

They don’t adhere to your policy’s coverage terms until you challenge their conclusions upon final review of your claim…trip interruption language in the policy document clearly states that trip interruption covers transportation to attend funeral services of a covered death of a relative but their examiner “assumes” that you are discontinuing your trip and thus only approve the airfare to return to USA, but they don’t reimburse you for return airfare to “CONTINUE” your trip! Page 9 of our policy document clearly states that the trip interruption covers round-trip airfare, if you’re continuing your trip and our uploaded documents in support of claim clearly demonstrate that we indeed continued our trip, their rep said that’s not covered! So we did the research, called them out on their own policy coverage details and now the claim has been “flagged for review by a senior examiner”…how convenient that they assume benefits to be paid out are less than what their own documents state that the policy holder is due. Be careful with this outfit, their practices are designed with their own interests in mind, not yours! Hold them accountable to the fullest extent possible!

Holiday Insurance

I made a claim for my holiday insurance on the 9th May, as of today 2nd August, 12 weeks in, it’s still under review. It took them 4 weeks to ask for further information. It’s been escalated twice. Phone calls weekly made to them but no one can tell me anything helpful.
Absolutely shocking horrendous customer service.

Don't touch their travel insurance

Don't touch their travel insurance. It appears designed not to pay out. We had our bags stolen. Allianz refused to pay without all original purchase invoices for our clothes. Utterly ridiculous.

Took out annual policy in February

Took out annual policy in February, get an email this week, my insurance will run out on my 70th birthday in a few weeks time, unless I purchase an age extension. Apparently I was insured under age 66/69 and my husband who turned 75 in May, was in the 70/75 group so his insurance will continue until policy expiry next February. Luckily we're not travelling abroad until next summer, so I'll find cover elsewhere nearer the time of travel ... I've never been 'penalised' for having a birthday partway through a policy! I wonder how many people have been affected by this.
We have the option for travel insurance via our Natwest bank account, but having read on here that Natwest use Allianz I'll definitely give that option a wide berth

Awful Travel Insurance

Please Don't Buy This Insurance. I'm completely unsatisfied as I literally paid around £60 & when my luggage arrived, it was damaged & I only bought it a couple of days before my holiday. I phoned them today & they asked me to pay £75 just to investigate my situation. This is honestly rip-off & I won't buy any Travel Insurance in the future. I hope this helpss!!

Be aware of the small prints

I purchased Allianz Travel Insurance and my flight was canceled. I found out when I arrived at the airport. I called to make a claim and was told that I am not covered because the insurance only covers cancellations if the flight is canceled AFTER check-in. I imagine this is one of those clauses written in fine print and not prominently advertised. The insurance policy is completely useless and misleading (to put it kindly).

Hopeless and unreliable

Tried everything to wriggle out of a claim of 86 Euros (Yes. 86!) against an indemnity for a performance in France which we could not attend as my wife was admitted to hospital. Did not reply to emails, did not call back when they said they would, kept asking for irrelevant documents. Hopeless. If this is how they behave over a claim this size I dread to think what happens if it is sizeable one.

Useless. Avoid.

I have this insurance through my Lloyds private banking and it is appalling. A valuable limited edition watch which disappeared from my luggage was valued at £12.35! This is not a good product. Avoid at all costs as it will cost you more. I wish I had read the reviews and got another product. I will be complaining to Lloyds and requesting they change to a better service.

Beware.... lost confidence in this product

Have travel insurance with Allianz Asst through Lloyds Bank Account.
Had 3 dreadful conversations with customer service regarding pre existing medical conditions all giving me 3 different prices.... very confused and confidence lost as to whether in the event of a claim that I would be covered.
Staff, English not their first language, very difficult to understand.
Taken my business elsewhere.
Just beware.

Holiday cancellation due to unexpected pregnancy.

We have worldwide travel insurance with Allianz as part of our Platinum NatWest bank account. We had to make a difficult decision to cancel a holiday to the Maldives on the advice of a doctor due to a very unexpected pregnancy and the Maldives having a risk of Zika virus. NatWest terms and conditions stated that we would be covered for cancellation if I had fallen pregnant unexpectedly and a doctor advised us not to travel, which was the case so we were fairly hopeful and confident the claim would be hassle free. We submitted our claim via the online hub and were asked to provide the booking confirmation, cancellation invoice, medical report confirming pregnancy and a medical certificate from the doctor justifying the reason for cancellation. Within 3 months of opening the claim, we had the full amount of money we had lost (minus the excess) in our bank account so an excellent experience and outcome. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is because communication was very slow and sporadic (one or two emails within that time requesting further information or giving us an update. Emails that I initiated were not responded to), but apart from that, we are very happy and relieved. Thank you Allianz/Natwest.
