Beware of DH
BEWARE OF DAIA HOME (DH) I ordered 2 Darcy sofas (now no longer available, I wonder why?) with a bespoke width of 225cm on the 31 Aug 2023 and didn’t receive them until 4 April 2024, over 7 months later. Not once did DH contact me with any updates and I wasn’t informed until Christmas of the reason for the delay having continually chased them for updates.
The sofas were delivered 4 April 2024 by Proovia. As I was now furious with DH I insisted the delivery people waited whilst I unpacked the sofas – OMG! both of the sofas were completely different to the Darcy sofas ordered and the arm of one sofa was damaged with a huge indentation. All the dimensions (sizes) of the sofas were different to those advertised on the DH website for the Darcy sofa (height, depth, with and without cushions and width) baring in mind that I ordered and paid for an exact bespoke width of 225cm, one sofa was 220cm and the other 221cm). The Darcy sofa has a very distinct square shape, the sofas I received were a completely different shape, curved and sloping. The sofa frame and cushions should have had piping to emphasis the square shape and instead had flat sewn seams and to add insult to injury the sofas had the wrong legs and were brown and not black.
Also, the sofa cushions are not reversable and that is not stated anywhere on the website and I wasn’t told. The sofas received were definitely not the Darcy sofas ordered.
As advised in DH home Terms of Service I rejected the sofas but the courier Proovia refused to return them to DH. I contacted DH immediately, sent them photos and the only response from David by email was that the sofas were exactly what I ordered. Since them every form of communication – email, chat, phone message has been completely ignored. Also the sofas are very narrow to sit on. I am 5ft 4 and the back of my knees don’t touch the sofa cushion when I am sat down. The cushions are so hard it’s impossible to sit on them for any length of time.
You may wonder why I have taken so long to leave a review. First, I stupidly had faith that DH would consider my complaint (no hope and no communication) and two, the length of time it takes to seek recompense through my bank and solicitor.
Without being disparaging, do not use this company unless you want to be deprived of the sofas you ordered, money you paid and treated appallingly. I lost over £2700!!!
Also check Companies House, DH regularly change their company name, I wonder why they need to do that? Read the terms of Service they are written in such a way that DH can do exactly whatever they want with your sofas and remove all your contractual rights or so they think. We work hard to be able to have a nice comfortable home so PLEASE BE AWARE of DH!
