My second purchase online has been successful at the end. The size I thought for my foot/feet being too small, I asked JAK to accept my return and replacement. They handled all that speedily. No response to my messages was unclear, them showing willingness to assist my issues. The quality of JAK products is superb. Overall I am impressed and happy with their ethos and actual customer service.

First pair of black shoes split at the heel after 3 wears and squeaked from day one.
Second pair of white shoes (never worn) squeak very loudly, looks like the tongue of the shoe was exposed to damp storage as it’s quite wrinkled.
Brown pair of shoes (never worn) have a gap between the sole and the leather which will definitely let water in and looks like it’ll rip/tear with wear.

Great shoes, responsive customer service, high quality product! The shoes seem to be the exact right fit. Certainly not too tight, nicely wide (but not too much). The leather and finishing is of very high quality. A type of quality I could compare with sneakers from Church or JM Weston. Just not the same price tag (:
Also, size 48. Finally, a brand that makes high sneakers in the larger size ranges.

The shoes look and feel great. But these are now unwearable after one time. I wore them once, and then placed them on a cool machine wash (as I do with most pairs of shoes, especially fabric) but the peachy colour dye from the lining material has stained the upper canvas, so mush that these are not wearable again. Bit disappointing after one wear, for the money spent.

Thank you for your order and review. We do not recommend machine washing these, the reason is precisely the way they are built, with a lining, rather than a single fabric upper layer.
The behaviour you describe, is normal (staining) and caused by the the drying process where the last layer (cotton canvas) being where the water dries out, accumulating glue-stained backing and lining fibers. Love the minimalist aesthetic; clean, uncluttered, elegant. The quality of materials and craftsmanship are also impressive. As an older guy, when I buy leather footwear, I buy dress shoes, and by now have a solid stable of Oxfords, Gibsons, Monks, et al. I am not a "sneakerhead". This is my first foray into the world of leather sneakers, but I have a feeling there may be a few more excursions yet. Speedy delivery, btw, and great customer service, too. Here's hoping for a Black Friday concession for us UK Brexit victims. Be kind JAK.

The most comfortable footwear I own - by far.
Well made, incredibly comfortable and a couple of nice touches thrown in - including spare laces and even better, replacement inner soles (the source of the aforementioned comfort). Higher end of the price scale but you get the quality you pay for. Just ordered my second pair
