insurethebox car insurance

Reasonably easy to manoeuvre app. Driving data could be a little more up to date. Happy with black box installation as it keeps the driver on his toes (metaphorically speaking).
Renewal price was a significant reduction as a result of
a years careful driving, therefore the black box was worth installing. Only 4 stars as I could not give any insurance company 5 stars!

Outstanding service and value for money.

The lady to whom I spoke was delightful. She was not only efficient and professional, but very friendly and extremely patient. I am waiting for new hearing aids & had to keep asking her to repeat information, but she was pleasant and reassuring all the way through the process. I am very impressed, also very grateful for the company's policy of rewarding careful drivers by reducing policy costs.

They tried to take over my claim using pressure tactics from India Call Centre

They tried to take over my claim when I'm not insured by them.

Used pressure tactics from an Indian Call Centre. Very unprofessional.

Wouldnt use them myself and would recommend people avoid this company.

Our claims and service centre are based in the UK. If you have been involved in an accident with one of our policyholders, and they are at fault, we would contact you to offer our services. We can arrange vehicle repairs and a hire car so that you don't have to make a claim against your own policy. This is standard practice in the insurance industry. If you prefer to use your own insurer, they may charge the policy excess.

Like driving to speed limit

Like driving to speed limit, though at times it can be tricky to work out the speed limit, and like being insured by a company that like I drive to the speed limit.Don’t like being tail gated by drivers who don’t, especially a huge truck. My car is a hybrid so I get a double bonus I.e. 70+ to the gallon on a long trip. Very happy with customer service. Negotiating your online site I find fairly easy and the feed back clear and positive. I renewed from last year so, so far all good.

Best value policy on the market


The price is what made my experience great - hundreds of pounds cheaper that any other company. All you have to do is stay within the speed limit! My renewal has just come in at £156 lower than last year, so must be doing something right.

Very reasonable price and easy to…

Very reasonable price and easy to contact very polite and helpful customer service the fact you can call them anytime and a person would answer you and sort out your request is great I was so happy with them from the day I bought the insurance to the end when I sold the car. It was very easy to cancel it and very clear actually you can see everything in your dashboard I think transparency is the key and it made this company very trustworthy to deal with. I should thank their customer service every time I contacted them, they were very careful and they go through all your concern with patience.

Good value insurance

My insurance renewal was by far the cheapest and I always shop around and have never renewed with the same company before. I like the monitoring to be honest. I drive at the speed limit and carefully so I feel this price reflects that I am a careful driver.

Helpful, speedy and efficient service.

Although the website/portal gummed up at the last stage when I was attempting to pay - which was rather trying - all went very smoothly when I phoned sales & service. Brooklyn was very helpful and pleasant and dealt with everything speedily, efficiently and professionally. I could not have asked for more.

A reduction in cost from last year was…

A reduction in cost from last year was nice.
The fact that my renewal was not activated on 12th
September even though I had spoken to your customer services department last Tuesday stating that I had accepted the quotation, and agreed no changes were
required to the policy, and was assured that the renewal would be activated before 12th September, no action
had in fact been taken, and I was insured to drive
yesterday (12th). I was not very happy about this

Only issue is website

Customer service was absolutely wonderful! Only issue is with the website - there was that issue during the year when it went down and there was no way for driving data to be accessed, and when renewing my insurance the website crashed just before payment. I had to ring to sort it out, and the woman was incredibly helpful but she was also having difficulties with the system.

Don't be scared by the black box it could save you money

Good afternoon,

I have just received my car insurance renewal and was very pleased to see the significant reduction in price.
Given that I was very apprehensive about having a black box fitted to my car where my driving skills would be measured and recorded.
However since it was fitted just under 12 months ago I have managed to meet the data conditions that you record without to much difficulty other than the amount of motorway driving required.
To be honest my fuel consumption has increased by nearly 10 mpg and the only problem I have is to ignore those who tailgate me when I am sticking to the road speed limits.
In my humble opinion the black box should be legislated to be fitted to all cars as it would surely reduce the amount of accidents due to speeding?
Another advantage if I am correct is that the car can be tracked if it is stolen.
I look at the data regularly as the bonus miles are a great incentive and proof that my driving is up to scratch.
Definitely no regrets in using insurethebox.
