Can’t recommend them

Installed at the start of Jan in Stamford and I had high hopes for this service, but the reality is that in the space of two weeks I have now had three outages, one during a call with my manager. It’s too unreliable at the moment to recommend and feels like the customers are being used to test the service. No response on a Sunday to an outage and it’s been down for nearly three hours. Previous was eight hours, prior to that needed a new cable in the box outside.

I might try again in 12 months when they have hopefully ironed out all the glitches. Thank god we had regular broadband as a backup.

High Speed Broadband for the future

I have recently been part of the Lightspeed full fibre broadband trial in Stamford.

The physical installation was simple and completed in 90 minutes, coming from the telegraph pole which supports my original telephone line.
The modem gave an initial speed of 600Mb, impressive! however in my kitchen & office reading were in the low 20Mb and on occasions the WIFI did not register. I had the same issue with wifi across my house with BT.
The engineer assured me that the speed I could expect to get to the modem would increase further and suggested that I could solve the issue with wifi coverage by adding beacons. I agreed and they quickly located the best position for these. This has significantly improved the signal strength and speed across the house.

Modem speeds have now stabilised to give more than 1 Gb with a minimum of 200Mb in the furthest away positions. Significantly more that my previous supplier.

The beacons however did initially conflict with my Sky Q causing loss of wifi signal, this was quite annoying, however this was quickly resolved by the engineer.
Location of the modem has also enabled me to connect both my tv & Sky Q box by an ethernet cable giving the full benefit of the full fibre. This has improved my ability to download. Another benefit is reduction in the intermittent performance on my SKY GO on a tablet I use in my kitchen.

In 2022 my speeds have been consistent 1Gb at the modem with no deviation at all at peak times. The Beacons give seamless Wifi across the house maintaining the best signal at all times as you move around.

As far as I can say it is a WIN WIN, and would fully recommend anybody who needs reliable, fast broadband to try Lightspeed Broadband,
it is the next generation of both internet and connectivity and prices are very competitive, ready for all our future needs.

Perfect Broadband. Perfect experience.

From the get-go the experience with Lightspeed Broadband was friendly and seamless. Ordering was easy and the installation was really smooth too. The engineer who completed the work was really nice and knowledgeable too. He worked really hard to get the hub unit into a convenient place for us which I was really grateful for.

Since then the download and upload Internet speeds have been phenomenal. It has made working from home much much easier, meaning I can transfer large files in an instant and video calls no longer buffer - certainly not for me.

At weekends, I like to game online and Lightspeed Broadband means downloading new games is super quick too.

Highly recommended. Would never go back to "normal" Broadband again.

Outstanding Service. Super Fast Connection.

I can't speak highly enough of the level of service I have had from Lightspeed. Initially my ground duct was blocked so was worried I wouldn't be able to even get the service after all. A group of guys soon turned up on a 'priority job', and got a line in for me. Relief!
The installer did a very neat job and couldn't have been any more amenable to my requests.
I did have a slight issue on the first day, but referring back to my initial comments, the service shone through. I got straight through to someone on live chat, and within seconds a tech guy was on the phone to me sorting things out. Since then, I have not noticed any dropouts, and the speeds are fairly staggering.

Awesome full fibre package: Great speeds & service

If you're looking for fast broadband and a friendly team behind it, then give Lightspeed serious consideration. Having had to put up with poor broadband speeds & service with BT for years, the difference with Lightspeed couldn't be greater. Speeds are in the hundreds of Mb/s as opposed to 7-15Mb/s, meaning fast downloads and the chance to watch TV in 4K. It's very reliable too and on the odd occasion I've had a problem, I found Lightspeed's team to be very helpful, understanding and fast to solve the issue. Highly recommended.

Warp 10 for Lightspeed!

I was one of the first to have Lightspeed installed in November in Stamford. The installation was very efficient. The engineers very knowledgeable and comu inactive. They returned the following day to check all was OK. They were able to tell me that there was a problem with the cable, which they speedily dealt with.
I also had Beacons installed to give me at the worst a 250 MPs at the furthest from the router. There have been some technical issues at the hub, which have been not only communicated to me by the HQ but sorted out quickly when they promised.
I will never go back to BT. Lightspeed does everything they say.

Fast Broadband Throughout my House !

I was one of the first residential customers to join the new full fibre broadband service installed by Lightspeed in Stamford during November 2021.During the installation and commissioning phase several connection and speed issues were encountered. These were all quickly diagnosed and rectified by the local competent Lightspeed engineers. No long phone calls to call centres and then waiting days for an engineer to arrive.
Being a retired process engineer I appreciate the commissioning of a complex infrastructure system like the full fibre system installed by Lightspeed takes time . The benefit of choosing Lightspeed as my service provider, based locally in Spalding means any issues can be quickly and efficiently resolved.
I now have a reliable high speed broadband service throughout every room in my house.
If you are considering changing your broadband internet provider I can strongly recommend Lightspeed.

New Customer

I have just become a customer (I live in Stamford) after two years with BT. Nothing wrong with BT but the speed and price with Lightspeed means I won't be going back. Very personal and efficient installation with the engineer coming the week before to do cabling work leading up to the house, the same engineer calling the day before installation to double check that everything was still OK with the appointment and then calling before coming on the day itself. No hard sell, everything explained as he went through and the installation options set out very clearly for me. Really nice chap, very professional work and talked me through everything I needed to know. Early days I know but couldn't have asked for more so far.

Blisteringly fast speeds and perfect customer service

Blisteringly fast speeds and perfect customer service.

I've always been with the likes of BT, or Plusnet. But since signing up to Lightspeed, a local provider, I'd never go back. The service and support is so much more personalized and bespoke. The team that fitted the connection are professional and respectful and the aftercare was genuine and helpful.

Now, onto the internet speeds... There's nothing quite like it! Netflix in 4K instantly with no buffering, Zoom meetings with no lag, downloading games to the PS5 in mere minutes, remote access to the office is perfect with no input lag. In fact, it's so quick that using cloud storage feels no different than local storage (for you techy nerds out there.)

I couldn't recommend more, and I've really enjoyed gloating to my friends that are still waiting for their gigabit connections.
