Do not trust Paramount Built (Overseas cowboy outfit refusing to refund)
I have spent £500 for structural engineering plans for a loft conversion and rear extension. Their calculations were completely incorrect. checked by both my builder and the building inspector. In their own words they believe they should not use the architect plans who has actually did a site visit. Me and my builder were having massive communications issues with this company and we realised from speaking to the inspector that they didn't operate in the UK. When we had a zoom call with them - they refused to show their faces on camera. I have never dealt with such an amateur outfit. Their phone number just goes straight to voice mail and they never have a named contact. Yesterday when I tried to call it was redirected to another company who had never heard of Paramount build or dealt with structural engineering plans. Do the honourable thing and refund my £500. I am going to report them to trading standards and other platforms as I can't believe any of the positive reviews

Awful.

My wife booked a structural surveyor through them. They invoiced us and as we both work only saw this late at night. We paid before the session as they insisted (feel a little silly now paying in advance, but they had good reviews). We paid before our session in good faith.

They then cancelled twenty minutes before our appointment the next day because 'they hadn't received payment'. My wife explained our situation and in none of their comms did they say if we didn't pay this would be the case. My wife then asked for a refund as we'd go elsewhere but they proceeded to argue with her.

Obviously, the trust has gone at this point and we wanted to go elsewhere, but then we received another call from their financial controller who equally tried to argue with us and say 'this is not the solution.'

I then had to argue back that we just wanted a refund but it was like getting blood from a stone. I asked them for an exact date as to when I would receive the refund which was today as I write.

I have been updated that this payment is now going to be next week after I had to chase.

Our main issue with the process is that do they say that your appointment is cancelled if the money does not clear. We also didn't appreciate the fact we were being argued with when all we wanted a refund, not to reschedule. It's really poor customer service.

We found a much better and cheaper solution elsewhere.

UPDATE: they have been ghosting me and my multiple emails after promising they would make the payment. I have now left this with my bank to recover my funds. AVOID

My home is very old, i notice that some inspections in walls, someone my friend suggest me paramount company, i talk about inspections the team response my all quarries in good manner way. After conformation i purchase the services. Team arrived on time, after taking started there work and completed the inspection schedule ahead.

I recently had a room renovation completed by Paramount Built, and I’m extremely happy with the results. The room has been transformed into a beautifully modern and functional space that exceeds my expectations.

A special mention to Sophie, who played a key role throughout the project. Her performance was outstanding—she was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful in guiding me through each step.

Overall, a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend them for any renovation work!

The professionalism and the impartiality of the staff were commendable. The surveyor fostered an environment of open communication and facilitated us with a fair and positive resolution for our boundary dispute.
