The woodcarving day-course was a great experience. We learnt the basics of woodcarving, the different chisels, sharpening the tools, coating the wood and several techniques. Will was a great instructor and gave left us with ample time to try it out for ourselves. I'd highly recommend the experience to others as a fun day out and solid introduction to the world of wood carving.

William is a great caver and excellent teacher. Both myself and my 7 year old son had a great workshop with William, where we explored the world of carving in a friendly environment. Much recommended!

Had a great day learning to carve with William. The day flew by. William was very helpful and understanding. He is an exceptional craftsman and excited my interest in taking carving further - suffice to say I ordered a carving set as soon as I got home.

Really enjoyed our days introduction to wood carving, William was a great teacher and host keeping us topped up with drinks and cake through the day. Really amazing to see some of his previous work and to talk to him about it. I definitely recommend giving it a try.

I did a one-to-one carving day with Will, it was a fantastic experience and great introduction to woodcarving. Will is an incredible carver and very generous with his knowledge and skills, he gave me a lot of practical tips and helpful references for designing and carving, setting me out on the beginning of my wood carving journey. I have just completed the one day woodcarving course with Will. This was a gift from my wife who knew I had an interest in finding a hobby involving wood. I was a bit apprehensive having never carved anything before but I'm so pleased I had the opportunity to experience this course. Myself and three other like minded people enjoyed the relaxing, friendly atmosphere of the workshop. Once we had been given a lesson on the art of carving from Will we were left to create our own creations with as much guidance and encouragement as we needed. The course is a great introduction to anyone thinking of taking this craft up as a hobby or lifestyle change. I hope to be able to carry on where I left off. Will is an extremely gifted craftsman. It was a shame the day had to end. Thank you again Will.

We had a fantastic day with Will in Devon. He was very friendly and helpful and explained everything about the tools and the techniques so it was easy to get started. We had no previous experience and yet we managed to make some lovely carvings to take home with us by the end of the day. It was a very relaxed day, with Will letting us work at our own pace and we had a lot of fun learning a new craft. Would highly recommend Will to anyone of any ability. His skills are amazing and yet he’s very patient with beginners! Thanks Will for a lovely day!

I recently completed a two-day woodcarving course for beginners with Will. Will is an excellent instructor. I was impressed how he was able to create a safe, supportive and fun learning environment for our group in such a short span of time. He helped each of us choose, design and execute our own projects, carefully guiding us through the wood carving process, while making sure that each of us felt sufficiently challenged considering our respective levels of experience and interest in taking the course. I can't wait to get my own set of chisels so I can continue my projects at home and hope to have the chance to learn more from Will in the future. I highly recommend this course!

My apprentice and I spent a thoroughly enjoyable and instructive day going through the fundamentals of letter carving. Will is a patient and thoughtful tutor whose work is of the very highest standard. He had prepared materials and resources for our specific needs and the working environment was well lit and comfortable to work in. There were great lunch options within walking distance. We both came away with renewed confidence to tackle letter carving, and inspiration for a letter carving commission. Highly recommended.
