Making it hard to file claims

I have a travel insurance with Generali. Last week I ended up having to change a flight due to a natural disaster, which should be covered under my policy, but when trying to submit my claim online the form won't accept it because it only accepts policy numbers that have 5 to 7 digits, while my policy number has 8 digits.
Since I couldn't use the online form i called them, but they said that I'll have to wait until Monday morning to submit my claim over the phone.
I'm not sure if this is the result of stupidity or if Generali intentionally tries to make it hard to file claims, either way it's painful to do so.

Sucks beyond words

Sucks beyond words! They loose your documents and send you on a never ending chain of inept employees! You pay your premium in time and unexpected and unexplainable bills begin to arrive with calculations no one can explain, they change agents as fast as people change socks! Can’t retain employees, can’t retain customers! Following year same SNAFU all over

It's a scam company!

The way to submit travel claims is specifically designed to discourage you from submitting them, having to contact them over the phone multiple times to get access to a web form that then doesn't fit your request. I also asked to cancel the insurance more than a month ago and never heard back from them. It's a scam company!

Not even worth 1 star.If you do not wish to lose your money,please look for another descent insurance company.Had to cancel my insurance,they kept all my funds but better to get out instead of continuing to pay for nothing!I wish I had read these reviews before getting into a contract with them.Their customer service is also not good.

Don't ever do a 3a pillar with these…

Don't ever do a 3a pillar with these guys. This is one of the few legal scams in Switzerland. Their products completely underperform the market. 99% of the people who sign regret doing it and loose more than 10k CHF.

Also the marketing is misleading. My initial contract had price prediction from 1% to 4% growth per year where it was 0.01% for 10 years.

Also they don't respond to letters and mails.

Also they use scammy insurance brokers (eg. SwissLife Select) so that they are not liable for any lies that these guys use.

It is almost impossible to get english…

It is almost impossible to get english speaking person on the phone that can help me. They have some guys but whenever I need some support that guy is either german speaking or french speaking. so I ended up paying from my pocket

Thiefs

Thiefs. Would say you own them money after not sending any bill, send you to a third party company to charge x2 for "delay". Such a shame that in Switzerland you must wait for the end of the year to change a company. Generali - Never again.

Fortuna legal insurance is a waste of money

I have this insurance since 3 years and found it not only to be useless, but actually even bringing me additional expenses. The latest case developed as follows:
- I was consulting Mieterverband regarding the matter related to an apartment rental contract and they suggested I contact Fortuna just to check if such a case ist covered by my insurance
- I contacted Fortuna, described my case, they called me to discuss and then announced (to my surprise actually, because one year ago they refused to cover similar case) that they will be hiring a lawyer to deal with my problem
- I asked explicitly if I will need to pay anything, Fortuna answered that they will be covering all relevant expenses
- the lawyer started working, did some work and asked some additional questions about the case background. Fortuna, who was reading the correspondence between me and the lawyer (btw, is that not supposed to be confidential, even though I had nothing to hide), then suddenly realized that my case is not covered! (based on some new background facts about the details of the case which they neglected to clarify before hiring the lawyer). But this is exactly why I have contacted them in the first place - to find out if my case is covered or not!
- So Fortuna basically hired the lawyer and them jumped the ship, leaving me with the bill for the job lawyer has already done (plus of course the bills for the future work, because once the process with the lawyer is started one cannot easily proceed without him). Of course I would not have hired the lawyer on my own and would handle this case differently and with much lower cost.

What kind of service is that!? This is just negligent. I am not even talking about the fact that the clause based on which they denied coverage is just a trick to cut their costs, but the fact that they were so unprofessional not to even check this clause in advance (a fact, relevance of which is only only known to Fortuna because they decided to put in to their exclusion clauses).

I have also asked for Fortuna's support in the past, in a situation, where this exclusion apparently did no apply. Guess what - they denied any help as well, just sending me a form. And before that on another instance they gave me some advice over the phone, the content of which I can find on Goolge in 30s.

Summary: there is an exclusion for everything, in addition to that Fortuna set me up for a bill of several thousand francs. Sadly, this is quite typical behaviour is this industry, avoid them. I will certainly terminate my insurance at the end of the period.
