Fantastic understanding staff.

I've read through the other reviews, however I would like to say that my experience even with delays has been wonderful with the lettings hub.

I know people find it funny to mention a name, but the employee Bradley has been charmingly wonderful throughout the hiccups caused by my letting agent and has helped me word it to get the issues fixed on the other end. They've gone above and beyond with this and have not become frustrated at all with my persistent calls about my concerns with the application.

While my credit isn't the greatest they only look for serious issues in your history for example CCJ's and the application seemed rather easy to use as I even did it on my phone within a 30 minute period.

I can only assume that people haven't gone out of their way to call and maybe haven't been completely honest when applying however I'd highly recommend if you have an issue to just give them a ring and talk to the lovely staff there, they will help you as much as they possibly can.

Fast & Simple process!

The only reason I can imagine for the previous bad reviews is that either people haven’t been honest on their application or have not provided all the info from the offset, or both, which will obvs result in you being declined.
My experience with the lettings hub was quick, simple, and within less than a week of finding my property I was in,
The actual lettings hub process takes only an hour or so to complete, including the time it takes to gather up all your payslips etc and take upload the pics, after that I suppose it depends on how quick your referees respond, mine both did within 48 hours and after only 2 days of sending my completed form off the Estate agents contacted me to confirm everything was all done.
You don’t need to speak to anyone, or faff about, its all simple stuff, I’ve had previous bad credit but I was honest about that and there was absolutely no problem.
A simple, fast and effective system which works well, does exactly what it says on the tin, and deserves a bit of a pat on the back. Nice one!

No stars deserved!
What an absolute shambles. Unfortunately letting agents use this company so I had no choice but to jump through their multiple hoops just to act as a guarantor. They apparently have criteria for financial viability which they don't share? They compile reports which are given to letting agents and landlords but not the person they're compiling the report about. I assume they pay badly because their employees are fairly clueless and in some cases downright rude! I am complaining to them and also to the financial ombudsman.

The reports are provided to letting agents and landlords of this recommendation which contains a high-level summary of our reference checks. We always want to provide our clients with the highest standard of service, so we will of course review the call recordings of your contact with us and address any concerns with our team.

Absolute SHAMBLES!

Absolute SHAMBLES!
You would think for a reference company you would be thorough, and accurate, think again! This company cannot even calculate a persons salary, when everything is black and white in there, in front of you, I have used other big referencing companies in the past, and have been in touch with lenders who have worked out my pay accurately who are much better than these Novice. I would not recommend any estate agents to use this company, no surprise they have got poor rating.

I agree with so many other reviewers

I agree with so many other reviewers, except I think these guys deserve negative stars. In seeking Landlord references, they are 100% impersonal, don't bother to read emails that are sent and don't treat landlords with the most minimal level of politeness.

It's reached the point where I have decided to stop replying to their emails because there's no point. No-one's reading them.

Unprofessional.

We dealt with the estate agents initially and they're were fine with everything, they sent us to Lettings Hub simply to check our references.

For two weeks they emailed and texted asking for more and more bank documents, we sent them everything we had. We had phoned the estate agents about 5 times and had a viewing inbetween and they were fine with our situation, then we had phoned Lettings Hub 3 times and had emailed about 6 times explaining they had everything, we're just waiting for our references to be checked.

Today we get a phone call from our estate agents saying the Lettings Hub had declined us due to not enough information.

Not one of our references were called, we checked!! Incredibly unprofessional.

I would give 0 start

They are very unprofessional people in this company. I can't believe some well-known agency still working with Lettings Hub. They are just horrible. They can't review a single document for many days.

My experience with this company vas terrible. They requested a bank statement form my referencing check and I provided immediately and also made a phone call to make sure they received it.

On the phone, they confirmed that they receive my document.

During the day I send a couple of other emails and also phone calls to make sure they have everything they need.

But interestingly the next day I received another email requesting the same document. They were saying that I did not provide it yesterday!!! It is just like a joke!

If I could give no stars - I would

Where do I start with this bunch of clowns?
Three weeks ago I found a perfect property to rent. Within my budget and near to work.
Went for a viewing arranged by Ocean estate agents and loved the house. I said I’ll take it!
I filled out the application form and that’s where the nightmare started....
The estate agent works with The Lettings Hub who are basically an inflexible dictatorship. It’s all down to them whether you get your desired property.
So, I stated to fill in my info on The Hub. It’s full of bugs and tempormental at best. It took me 2 hours.
I sent my references over, and I was really pleased with them because they were excellent references (they lost all of the references twice so 3 times I had to send them)
They rejected one of them because one of my employers is a doctor. He’s ‘not a business’ they told me...yes I know that, he’s a doctor...they rudely told me he could be anyone and he couldn’t be verified! They made me feel as though I’d made him up...just plucked him out of thin air...lied and faked his reference. They didn’t even try to contact him.
Reference number 2. My boss was away in China and he actually stated this on his reference that there’s a time difference (obviously) and if that could kindly be respected?...err no, they contacted him UK time! 3am in the morning Shanghai time...brilliant!
Next, my current landlord. I hadn’t told him I was moving out - just in case (for whatever reason) my application for this new place got rejected. Next to your current landlords details is a box where you can write comments, I mentioned he didn’t know I was looking to move so could they use discretion and contact him for a reference last? Ten minutes after submitting the form...ding dong on my doorbell...my landlord asking when I was planning on telling him I was moving out!
Three weeks later after many rude and aggressive calls from this lot...THEY have now decided I can’t afford the rent on the new property because they can’t verify I work for the doctor so my salary is too low!!!!!!
At this point I contacted the estate agent and they said I need a guarantor!!!! I earn £33000pa and they want a guarantor. Ok, I sent them 2. One of the forms they sent won’t submit and the other one is asking for references for my guarantor! What next??? A reference for the person writing the reference?!
To tell you this has been stressful is an understatement. It’s gotten so bad for the last 3 nights I’ve had to take a sleeping pill before bed because I literally cannot sleep worrying about it.
Every day brings a new wave of vitriol and venom.
Every day there has been something else that is wrong or hasn’t been submitted correctly or they simply haven’t received. All the ducks are lined up and in a row and I’m no nearer to getting an answer. I know they will reject me even after all of this. It truly has been hellish and a waste of time.
I really think I will lose the house I’ve got my heart set on because of these people. If I do I pray to God I never have to deal with these people again.
I had no choice because the estate agent where I saw the house advertised uses them to do their checks.
My boss actually said they’re the worst company he’s ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I have to agree with him.
You people have literally made me sick with worry and unnecessary stress. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves...I bet you’re proud though...wouldn’t surprise me.
Here’s my advice, don’t think because you’re making important decisions that YOU are important, you’re not.
Sort out your stupid software and get a decent IT/tec person to fix your bug ridden software.
Go on some customer service courses and learn how to speak to people respectfully.
Don’t charge people for your God awful service...in fact please just disappear.
My advice to anyone out there - don’t get involved with THE LETTING HUB

The computer says no

The computer says no! There are obviously no humans involved in the Lettings Hub system, poorly worded questions lead to an unfair report. Nothing in the system to accommodate foreign renters. An email system that just doesn't work. At no point will this company treat like a living, breathing human being, they will, however, take your money and give an entirely unfair assessment of your suitability to rent a property. I guess they are just in it for the money.

We never decline applications lightly or without exhausting all other options, but we have to be objective in our assessment and provide a recommendation that is based on the information provided to us. As we provide this service to letting agents, however, we do not charge tenants or take any payment from them for our referencing service.

Appalling service

Appalling service! Very inefficient, duplicated requests, poor emails (mail merge fields not correct) and the spelling and grammar were atrocious.
