Prepare to be bombarded by every tom, d”ck and harry rouge trader in the county. All i wanted was a bit of advice where to go and now im being called, texted, whatsapp’d and emailed at all times of the day and night. Biggest mistake i did putting my details into this site.

I received one reply from a named company and one from someone who did not identify themselves other than to contact a mobile number. It seems that the companies you deal with are not interested in a small project.

contacted three local surveyors. The first responded immediately and told me I was to far away, and a single visit wasn't worth the effort, although I am 20 miles away from their registered business address, live in Norfolk and their website states they cover all of Norfolk, including all towns, coastal areas and villages.
The second reply told me that they could visit the following day although they had increased their charges by £20 (24%) above the advertised rate due to additional checks they now had to make. Strange that they hadn't updated their fee structure on the website to reflect the additional work required!!!! The third company I contacted which is also 20m away from my home didnt bother to respond.

Put you on too cowboy firms like McCallums Property Surveying.
Clearly stated what I needed in a report to them and they didn't listen and now ignoring my dispute claim from my bank as they know their in the wrong.
I don't think local surveyors direct vet any of their recommendations they probably all just pay a fee to be recommended and that's it...

Found this really easy to use and the quotes were very reasonable. Two cheapest quotes contacted me directly and there were no hidden extras. Really happy with the service from the company I decided to use from this. Excellent communication.

I required a Structural Engineer report regarding an ongoing loft conversion. Within minutes of looking on Local Surveyors Direct, I was conversing with David Preston. We had a quick video call to show him where we are and have arranged a site visit for next week. The process has been fast and easy. I couldn't have asked for more.

Daljit came to do a domestic EP certificate assessment this morning. All this process was new to me since I last sold a home but he was helpful, careful and explained the process very well.

Managed to get hold of 2 Electrians straight away within my local area. We had previously been let down after waiting 6 weeks for the work to be carried out by a recommended Electrician. Very pleased in finding qualified person who knew what we were talking about. After already waiting 6 weeks the work had become urgent now. Will definitely use again and will be the 1st point in looking.

I thought this was just a search engine to get quotes and contact details for me to choose a surveyor and engage with them further myself. But what actually happens is they sell your details to every single surveyor shown in the search who then continue pestering you via phone and email for many days. Exactly what I needed when already dealing with all the hassle of buying a flat 😑

I immediately received a variety of quotes from contractors after my request for costing for an EICB report, yesterday. Two of them also rang me & three e-mailed to offer assistance. I spoke to one local contractor who arranged to make an assessment today. He is getting one of his team to do the report for me early next week.

Identified a lot of local surveyors with generally good reviews, and a range of prices and offerings. Also not bombarded with quotes and phone calls, unlike with a lot of sites - I have contacted the surveyors I'm interested in, rather than having them all phone me 15 times a day whilst I'm at work

I was looking for a surveyor for a party wall matter. The form was easy to complete. Almost immediately my phone was inundated with calls. (Not very practical as I can't take calls at work)
The different companies were very helpful.
TIP: Only give your email contact details to avoid a lot of phone calls.
