Not risking it.

Currently looking for camera and lens insurance and came across photoguard. I’ve read some of the negative reviews and there are enough of them to put me off. I’m not taking that risk, I’ll insure elsewhere.
So whilst I’m not qualified to comment on performance etc, I think it’s only fair the PG are aware that they just lost a potential customer.

Straightforward insurance and great customer service

photoGuard provide straightforward insurance packages at a very reasonable price. I renewed again this year and was assisted by Caitlin who was very professional, friendly and helpful and made sure that the deal I had was right for me. Customer service done properly.

Best Insurance Company I Have Ever…

Best Insurance Company I Have Ever Dealt With In My ENTIRE Life! They were very supportive, efficient and responsive. I would highly recommend and that’s coming from someone who had a very unfortunate incident but had the likes off Photo guard supporting me through this process. I can’t thank the team enough!

What a lovely guy! He talked me through and sorted my photography insurance in no time. Very helpful and professional, but at the same time I had a feeling like I am chatting with a friend :)

Absolutely fantastic

Well what can I say from start to finish my claim it has been an incredible experience, Sharon was so fast and so responsive. Ignore any negative feedback you read on here. This is a fantastic company and I will always ensure my equipment through them.

Just opened a policy today

Just opened a policy today, I’m new to photography and therefore new to the insurance side of it all. Kieran could not of been more helpful! Really lovely lad and had patience and understanding with me!

No option to list items with a name or description?!?

Items insured are only itemised by price?!?

Why is there no way of tagging each item insured with a name or description, or even a date purchased. Keeping your list of insured items up to date, and adding or removing items, is massively inconvenient in time consuming.

Very satisfied customer

I am a keen amateur photographer and I love my photography equipment, so when I had an accident and my camera and lens went flying I was understandably gutted. Luckily the lens seemed fine but the camera had a decent sized chunk broken off it. It was assessed and deemed the internal damage was too great to be repaired. Photo guard were on hand to advise me and assist every step of the way. I was very impressed by how simple and speedy the process was. Very satisfied customer.

Photoguard/Guardclaims these guys have…

Photoguard/Guardclaims these guys have been absolutely amazing , Jamie & team was my last hope must say and they have not let me down. After authority closed the case in two days by saying we couldn’t find described thieves in surrounding area. I am so grateful for whole photoguard team for efficiently sorting my claim. I would highly recommend photoguard to anyone who is in two minds about buying 📸 📷 insurance.

Bad business practice

Bad business practice. Had an e-mail for an automatic renewal - which I didn't sign up for. I Never have automatic renewals. Was told by e-mail that my bank has declined (the old card I son longer valid) and therefore the policy would not renew and would be cancelled after a certain date. So wrote back and said fine as I didn't want auto renewal and no longer wish to contract with a company that does that. I no longer have the equipment. Replied saying that the insurance was renewed and there is a £10 cancellation fee. Sent the documents to my solicitor to sue for UTCCR and Harassment.

We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the auto renewal of your policy this year after not having raised this as an issue when it auto renewed the previous year.

The auto renewal process is clearly covered on the website in the renewals section, www.photoguard.co.uk/renewals, in the new business documents and also in renewal documents with clear instructions on how to opt out of auto renewal if required.

Due to your card no longer being valid the auto renewal process that you went through the previous year was not possible and as no payment was made a letter was issued to confirm the policy would be cancelled if no payment was received (incurring a £10 cancellation charge as per the policy terms and conditions).

Best of luck with your photography moving forward. If you do decide that you need cover again then we would be very happy to provide a quote and can, on your instruction, opt you out of the auto renewal process.

Great job Photoguard

1st class experience with Photoguard. Damaged fav camera and fav lens beyond repaid. Been with them 5yrs+ never claims so not sure what to expect. They were supportive, helped me through process and settled the claim quickly with a sum I was happy with. Flexible on how you replace your kit, so a great relief stuck with their cover through the years. Will be renewing and would highly recommend. You may get cover slightly cheaper, but won't beat the cover or service.

This company are worse than the thieves…

This company are worse than the thieves that might rob your equipment in the first place. Photoguard will happily take your money for year after year, but have no doubt they will do ANYTHING to get out of paying out a claim. Not only that, but they will string you along to say you have a claim, but you have to keep paying insurance for your stolen items while it is processed....only months later to find a reason not to pay, based on the same info you gave at the beginning.

Quick and transparent claims process

I had the misfortune of needing to claim very soon after taking a policy. Claims process was straight forward; a phone call and a couple of back and forth emails for the required documentation. I’ve only rated 4/5 as the process felt impersonal at times, and almost as if there was a rush to get my claim settled and move into the next one.

Treat you like a criminal.

Genuine claim, i dropped a camera while working but they treat you like a criminal, ask for private messages and emails, dont want to help or pay even though you are supposedly covered, get you to source repairs yourself and pay and then they will let you know if you might be cevered, thought this was what you paid them to do!. They quote 5 days to reply to a question which is extremely frustating, not worth the money and yes they are expensive, you expect more from this company. Extremely dissapointed in the service I have received or should I say not received.

I’ve been a photographer full time for…

I’ve been a photographer full time for 3 years now and I’ve always had my insurance with PhotoGuard. I’ve just had to make my first claim for a broken lens and I have to say that the whole process was pretty easy and straightforward. My claim was accepted and I’m getting my lens repaired!

Very polite and identified my…

Very polite and identified my requirements with ease and then covered the way the insurance works without being too stressful over the matter. The fact I changed the insurance a few days later didnt seem top bother them as long as I had the cover I required going forward. A+++++
