Landline without Internet service.

I changed my ISP but the new ISP were no longer offering a phone service of any type so after searching the web I came across a recommendation for Simple Telecom. I rang them a and John answered, no select 1 2 or 3 or a call centre but a real person who knows the products they supply. He took the time to explain exactly what I needed to meet my requirements and confirmed it all in an email.
A week later I phoned to confirm my purchase and a few days later received the router and a new phone (which was not required but I now have a spare) to set up the new service with a temporary number until my existing number was transferred. The transfer has now been done and we are very pleased with the system,. Brings a whole new meaning to 'Plug & Play'.
Everyone I spoke to or emailed was very friendly, polite and knowledgeable which gave me confidence about the services they offer and I have no reservations in recommending them to anyone.

Fantastic

Fantastic! Really helpful, (human beings) to talk to who all knew their stuff and were very happy to discuss and explain everything to me. So easy to set everything up for my Mum in a care home and again, really understanding when I had to cancel due to my Mum passing away. Nothing too much trouble for them. Can't recommend highly enough.

avoid simple telecommunications they do not care for the elderlyof

iam 85 years of age i live alone this simple telecommunications company disconnected my phone number and left me abounded and valuable without a telephone
and emergency red button life line and they have refused to reconnect me they where very rude on a phone conversation about my direct debit please avoid this company, save your money its a scam

Dear Maria,

Upon thorough review of your account, including emails and call recordings, we must correct your version of events.

Franco your point of contact clearly requested the disconnection of your line on the 12th of this month due to your new installation with a different provider, despite being informed at the time that this action was irreversible.

This request was documented through multiple emails confirming the chosen date and outlining the implications of the disconnection.

Your subsequent communication on Saturday (13th), expressing that your new provider had not completed the installation and requesting the line to remain active, was responded to promptly, reiterating that this was not feasible, as previously communicated in our correspondence and agreement.

Additionally, you unilaterally closed the direct debit necessary for outbound calls without notifying us of your migration to a new provider, which is essential for bill payments. We explicitly informed you that a new direct debit was required for continued service, which Franco reluctantly complied with.

There is no substantiated evidence supporting your claim of our team members being rude during any of our phone conversations.

To be unequivocal: you insisted on terminating the line on the 12th, fully aware of the irreversible nature of this action. Therefore, your interpretation of events is entirely inaccurate, and we take great offense at your accusation of us being "Scammers."

We suggest discussing this matter with Franco, your point of contact, as he may not have accurately conveyed the true nature of these events to you.

Genuine concern

Decent company

I have used this company to have a landline for an elderly relative, and have found them to be accommodating and honest. To coin a term, It does what it says on the tin.
I would have no problems recommending them.

Change to broadband faultless

The changeover to broadband phone took just a couple of hours, and then everything worked well. The open reach engineers were friendly, and even left name and number if we had any problems.

Change-over happened on the date…

Change-over happened on the date promised, with emails confirming each step. Phone and broadband worked fine. Router does not match the wifi power of the previous supplier - I will have to install boosters.

Very enjoyable experience, especially when I'm saving money.

Great information & recommendations

Great information & recommendations, works a treat. My only quibble is I wasn’t informed there would be a temporary number issued then it would revert to the original number so I informed everyone of the new number then had to inform them again 2 days later that it had changed back

We acknowledge the perceived complexity in our process. The 1Phone unit is dispatched with a temporary number, allowing you to test and evaluate the service beforehand. It is not feasible to transfer a telephone number to a new service on the same day, as this typically requires 5 to 10 working days under Ofcom regulations. Meanwhile, the existing copper line remains active, and we will notify you upon completion of the number port. You can then connect the new 1Phone router.

Everything seemed to be working exactly…

Everything seemed to be working exactly as planned from an original conversation some months ago to a lengthy chat with John who was extremely helpful in advising the best option for me.
The setup and migration of my longstanding home phone number went through yesterday so thank to the whole team for making the whole process so seamless and easy - and it all works perfectly!

I organised my elderly mother’s change…

I organised my elderly mother’s change to Simple as she wanted a phone line without Broadband. My brother visited to plug in the new router and the changeover went without a hitch. She’s been told not to unplug it to save electricity!
