My experience was not great

My experience was not great. The length of time to get to the correct department was so long. Asked irrelevant information at such an early stage of enquiry. This over the period of two days

Simple and quick

Not being of the computer generation some things are bewildering to do online. Not so this one. It was clear, simple and easy to use. Even offering a hardcopy delivery. As a lot of us don't feel that the transaction is real until we hold the paperwork in our hands

I doubt you could improve on Swinton

House and contents renewal and I was faced with a 25% increase in premium. Swinton helped me reduce the increase to 12%, saving me over £80! They were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and keen to provide me with the product I needed. Highly recommended.

Quick and easy to deal with

I recently required to change the provider of my car insurance.
Found Swinton Insurance easy to deal with. Quickly found a competitive quote and new insurance arranged within minutes.

Cover & Price Good. Service needs improvement.

Quote was taken from comparison website and application done online. Issue with a so called claim that was actually just a notification. Swinton said that it was still relevant - for all insurance companies used since date of incident back in 2022 it has been irrelevant. Various emails /texts to contact them which when received issue had already been sorted. A bit alarming as I needed to know I was covered as was driving for a weekend away. All in all, good price, good cover offered (on paper at least) but a bit disjointed and complicated when it needn’t have been.

I’m sorry you feel that there was confusion regarding the notification for your claim. I wanted to clarify that when applying for an insurance policy, it is standard practice for insurance companies to check the CUE database to access any claims history. CUE is a central database that holds information on all insurance claims and incident reports made by policyholders. If the information disclosed does not match what the database confirms, we ask for you to contact us to discuss this in more detail. When updating the information to match the CUE database, this can affect the premium you were originally quoted. We can see you are sending proof in there was no incident and look forward to receiving that.

I was very pleased with their quotation…I am a happy customer.

I was very pleased with their quotation for my car insurance. I have saved money by joining Swinton & also they have quoted less than my present payment with the RAC.

I like how you make the whole thing…

I like how you make the whole thing easily understood, which some insurers are woefully poor at! The last thing people want is being bambousled by high faluting words when all you require is a simply explained insurance plan at a reasonable price and I think you have succeeded. Many thanks.

Curse of the oneway email "swintondonotreply@"

Dont send out EMails that cannot be replied too.
Please dont impliment automatic renewals when specifically asked not to.
When informing customers that their policy will be automatically renewed, do make it so difficult to stop it.
When a customer finally manages to cancel the renewal, don't contine to send EMails warning them that it will be renewed.
But mainly, don't increase the year on year cost by such an high amount!

Swinton's premiums

I wanted a lower premium which I received. Documents were sent immediately by email and everything was correct. I paid the following day and the staff were very helpful and polite.

Bad start

Rejected my payment details twice then reverted back to today as a start date whch was incorrect. Live chatted within seconds and was told to call them to cancel and re buy. Why should I have to call?now I'm paying for a month's insurance when I already have insurance elsewhere. Very bad start. Cannot imagine how it would go if I needed to claim ever.

Rang them today....gave up in the end!!!

Rang their number today...spoke to an automated machine..I stated "new Policy enquiry"..and had to listen to details about renewing and payment all on automated voice...all this took over 3 mins and then call was aswered by agent who never said anything but I could hear chat on the line....I then gave up!! I had rang re. a letter they had sent to me re. my getting quotes for building insurance online....I rang them to sort out that they had given me 2 different quotes from 2 different comaprison websites..so no joy from Swinton!!!
