I canceled my TalkTalk contract over…

I canceled my TalkTalk contract over two weeks ago, and what an absolute hassle it’s been. It feels like you’re doing everything possible to avoid letting people cancel—there’s always some excuse about why you "can’t access accounts" or why it’s taking so long. Almost like you’re making it intentionally difficult to leave—what a mystery!

I was told I’d receive an empty package to return the router (because if I don’t, I’ll be hit with a £50 charge). Surprise, surprise—no package has arrived. My router is ready and waiting to be returned, TalkTalk. Consider this review proof that I’m trying to cooperate. I think I have about two weeks left to send it back, so maybe you should get moving on your end?

Never go with TalkTalk Boardband

I was migrated to these incompetent fools who automatically increased my monthly cost 45% and the internet performance is terrible and then spent 64 minutes talking to fools who deliver the worst customer service. Do not use TalkTalk broadband, it’ll be your worst mistake

Retention team cannot set up contract extensions

Had broadband with them (via Shell) for one year. Received a renewal offer with a lower monthly price and £100 Amazon voucher (within 30 days, as per clear email conditions).
Called them to take the offer. Was told Voucher would take 90 days, as per "what I had been told".
Needless to say, old monthly price is still applied and no voucher received, despite contract information received on the day I called the retention team.
Supports says the contract was not set up properly when I enquired. Not sure what else they need for me to set it up properly.

Talk talk are an absolute shower … I…

Talk talk are an absolute shower … I left a few months ago after them leaving me without working internet for over a month and leaving me unable to run my business.. they’re still trying to charge me for internet/service I never received instead of compensating me for loss of service .. and today they’ve sent a further bill when I haven’t even got an account anymore , including now a 75GBP charge for a visit to sort out their issue that they didn’t resolve or fix ; this company is a disgrace and people need to avoid this company like the plague .. can someone from talk talk provide me with your legal dept details as I’m going to have to get a solicitor involved to resolve your ineptitude.

Login to your account every day I guess is the solution

I've cancelled my contract with talk talk 8th of October. Payments were done throuhg direct debit, which I did not cancel. Got an email today because of balance on my account that needs to be paid and how that's impacting my score credit.

How am I supposed to know about that payment if they didn't tell me? I didn't cancel the direct debit, but I guess they decided to report me instead of letting me know.

EARLY TERMINATION FEES

I have had my Internet cut out only a few times and I'm sure it's because it wasn't actively being used for days at a time, while away from home, but I need to reset it on the hub, so no good if you need WiFi for cameras while away. The times I've not been able to fix the problem myself were solved by customer service chat who talked me through each step while the lights changed colours. I wanted to change providers at the end of my contract so had to phone the cancellation team to avoid the out of terms cost spike and they gave me an amazing discount. Sad to see TalkTalk go bust. I would've like to have stayed for a third year.
WARNING: early termination costs £10 something for EVERY MONTH left of your contract !!

TalkTalk Service terrible experience

I want to share my experience with TalkTalk here with everyone and the team. I have requested my broadband connection request in the 2nd week of Aug and they promised to install it on 11th Sep 24 with the email confirmation. We have been visited by multiple engineers so far and digged and put the cables including the setup box in our house. We have received the router as well 1 month back. I have spoken multiple times with the Talktalk support team and every time they are mentioning the different reason that engineer is not available to fix it as there are some issues at their and giving the different dates but noone appears on those mentioned dates with the issue unresolved yet. I have never experienced such a service with any provider in last number of years.

One of the worst customer service experiences…

I had been experiencing issues with our internet for a week, the only response I could get from talk talk was when I went to switch providers, the app doesn't work, live chat wouldn't work.
When someone from customer loyalty did contact me, they offered an upgrade at a good price etc. but installation would be over three weeks! This did not resolve my current issues, I was transferred to the tech department which never happened , I was on hold for over an hour and had to stop waiting.
I then tried using live chat the next day, I was on the live chat for FIVE HOURS!.
I was transferred countless times with each department being less helpful than the one before.
At the point of leaving the live chat I had no help offered, no technician appointment etc.
I made the decision to then purchase my own router in attempt to restore my internet connection.
This fixed my current issues, so I opted to change providers as I couldn't be faced with dealing with talk talk again in the future.

Horrendous company

Horrendous company
I had no Internet connection for 2 weeks.
I was promised automatic compensation which never arrived.
I was overcharged on my bill.
And when I asked to leave, I was told I would have to pay a penalty to leave.
I then complained and got a callback from their loyalty team.
They put me on hold for 30 mins.
I then gave up on them.
Please pay more and go to a reputable provider.

Don’t use TalkTalk

Since my service was installed on the 4th November I’ve had at best 6 days of uninterrupted service.
The problem has occurred due this joke of a company knowingly sending out faulty routers.
Getting through the their customer service is painful.
I’m not sure how they still trade.

First Class!

First Class!
The person who helped me with my WIFI issues was excellent! She was patient, kind and very efficient.

My WIFI was constantly dropping for the past two days but since I was assisted by Nompumelelo, it is working now!

Nompumelelo is a first class representative. I am very grateful for her support as I was struggling to get my WIFI to work. Thank you so much for the guidance and help Nompumelelo!
I have found my WIFI works better now which is brilliant!

I am a very happy Talk Talk customer now.
5 stars!

Stalling tactics to not pay my overpaid invoice

Still awaiting part refund payment into my bank account as of 22nd December 2024 of invoice that Talktalk billed me and I paid on 18th September 2024. The stalling tactics are appalling by anyone's standards and each week that passes without payment will ensure a new minimum star will be added to this website.

I had a decent conversation

I had a decent conversation with one of the loyalty team from talk talk. I noticed that the message informing me that my account was undergoing the cancellation process had disappeared from screen whenever I logged into the web portal. He reassured me that my account had been totally disconnected, and that I would receive my final bill within the next week, and would be due a refund. Previously I had mistaken my last bill for £12 as the final bill. This in addition to another previous bill for £32 which had been taken from my account whilst I was not using talk talk services, would amount to £44. I was a bit worried that talk talk had enrolled me in another 12 month contract that I had not agreed to. I should therefore receive some money back when the real final bill arrives. At least this time I did not feel I was being deliberately wound up, as I felt when speaking to some previous call handlers. For this reason I have decided to give a four star review

Not helpful at all

Not been able to get a connection and sort internet. Not a user friendly system, unlikely to get an engineer around Christmas time & website is not user friendly for what you need

Overcharged me - AGAIN!

Following a transfer of my account from Shell broadband, they overcharged me for the handover period and it took a lot of effort to get a refund. I have since cancelled my account. In November they took the final direct debit payment covering the period up to the cancellation date plus an extra day. Now they have charged me for another month. This company are continual overchargers - avoid them like the plague!

Where do I start ?

Where do I start ?
To summarise I am showing on my Bill statement as making over 500 calls from a landline that is barred from making calls, as well as having no hand set to make calls on. The situation has been escalated but without a solution, promises made and promises broken. TalkTalk sadly do not seem to have the experience in its workforce.

I’m a customer, get me outta here

Been with Talktalk for many years, but what a disgraceful company it has become. Ordered fibre 500 on 3 Sep as an upgrade. It’s now 22 Dec and still waiting. First order cancelled without my knowledge. Advised quickest way to get it installed was to sign up as a new customer. Did this but I cancelled because they had raised the price and also changed my phone number!! Ordered an upgrade again and still waiting. I’ve spent hours and hours on the phone with their so called “experts”. False promises and lies is all I get. Three official complaints has made no difference. I will be searching for another provider, and advise people to avoid this shamble of a company at all costs.
