Shocking quality. Do NOT buy Vango

We bought an outdoor gas cooker and an induction hob in July. One of the gas hobs failed in about a week.

The induction hob, whilst still working, has been taken to the local charity as its quality is worse than abysmal. (1) It heats a narrow area of perhaps 10cm. Within that ring, everything will burn whilst the rest of the food sits around, completely uncooked. (2) It's impossible to run it on a lower setting as it starts cycling- literally switching on and off like all ultra-cheap induction hobs do. We are no strangers to low-wattage appliances as we live on a widebeam boat. Our large boat hob is also 200-800W but has no issue running perfectly on 200. (3) controls are unstable and are constantly tripped by the pans whose diameter is larger than the hob itself - which means any pan larger than 12cm. So, pretty much every pan. You set it to 3, it flips to 5 and burns the lot.

I have never had an appliance that failed so miserably on so many levels. This is a corrupt company. Don't buy their products.

Poor customer service and returns

I ordered a premium tent a vango f10 Xenon UL rrp £360.

On receiving it, I noticed that one of the poles is damaged. These are supposed to be premium (powerlite plus poles) I was surprised as previous vango tents I've bought have been fairly decent.

So now, I've had the tent less than a week, I've supplied photos and got to wait in for it to be collected. And then wait for it to be repaired and sent back. Considering their poor product, the least they could do is send out a replacement pole ASAP.

Very poor considering that I have camping booked for this weekend. I think I'll go with terra nova next time

Delayed delivery

Initial order was either lost in transit or delayed availability but Vango did send an email to say it was shipped. After exceeding the expected delivery maximum time, I contacted them to say it had not been received. A second item was sent and received within stated delivery timelines.

We have a Vango Kela V Air Away Awning… and did not meet our requirements

We have a Vango Kela V Air Away Awning Low which was bought as the dimension state it is 310cm wide. the main area may be but the section to connect to awning rail is NOT. it is 240 cm. We also could not use the front curtain as it is between the inner mesh panel ( for air) and the plastic front window.
Whoever designed this awning has never used it for a week and we cannot use it again as the dimensions on the drawings are not the dimensions of the actual item.
We would like a full refund!

Kela Air beam replacement

I have a Vango Kela Air awning, purchased in 2013.
Still in great shape despite years of use. One of the air beams has developed a leak, although my awning is not listed, I spoke to the helpful staff, who advised me the inner tube replacement was available. It’s was ordered and despatched the next day.
Very pleased with the service and helpful advice given.

Bought vango exodus 600 last summer…

Bought vango exodus 600 last summer used it twice, stored it correct inside in the dry all winter. We're currently away on holiday, we got it out Friday to use as our home for a weekend and the points where you inflate have all crumbled and fallen off. I've got a heartbroken family and had to pay for a bed and breakfast not. This tent was close to 1k when I bought it, what an absolute joke.

Reply from Vango

Dear customer, I am very sorry to hear this. It is certainly not a product number I recognise. Although after some detective work I understand the Milano 2 to be a retailer special based on a Beta 250 from 2007-2012. I think this model was 2011. Our friends at https://www.tentspares.co.uk/ should be able to help you as the structure is that of a Beta so the parts will be the same. I hope this helps and you can fix the issue.

Design, function and ease .

When a brand comes up to all expectations in build, function, design, and quality, you stick with it . My second purchase from Vango, and I am not disappointed . The first all season tent, did all seasons without any problems, over 8 years, then passed on for future use . This one will be the same. I am confidant.

Faulty mats

We bought Vango comfort 10cm mats and were very excited about the quality. Unfortunately they bursted, one after about five uses, second after about seven uses. After claiming the product and replacing it, it got flat within 3 uses again!!! It is 4 mats now and I don't know anyone who hasn't had an issue with these mats. We were trying to get a refund from Vango as we knew the fault is common but they didn't want to hear about it. These mats are 100% faulty, the bad reviews from everywhere are disappearing and I feel like customers should know!!!! No one from Vango want to help anymore.

Airspeed tubes and poor customer service

Been waiting 6 days for Vango to get back to me re 2 new airbeam tubes that popped straightaway. The customer service site is hopeless and just says complaint being processed. Meanwhile 6 tubes down in 2 months at a cost of circa £200 the tubes are not fit for purpose. Holiday ruined no awning and nothing from Vango. Back to a poled awning for me and not Vango.

My camping stove split its gas delivery…

My camping stove split its gas delivery hose and started venting burning gas out the tube. I turned it off and ate cold soup. When I wrote to Vango explaining that despite being 12 weeks out of warranty, the stoves had less than half a canister of gas put through it from new, and was always well cared for, could they help with a replacement? The response was avoidant and unhelpful. TWICE they simply repeated information which proved they had not even read my initial email, which wasn't exactly over-long! Quite apart from the fact the stove was downright dangerous, I felt that they just couldn't be bothered with me. They used to be a good company. I won't use them again. I'm sending the stove to Trading Standards... maybe Vango will bother to read THEIR email properly.

Vango Balletto 200

I'm currently away with my Vango Balletto 200 awning on the sie of my caravan. Absolutely shocking quality. The rain is currently running in down the sides of the van as it leaks. The awning rail beading is also tearing away at one end as the stitching is really poor. I had a very similar experience, although not as bad, with my Montelena 400 and I've since sold it and bought a dometic which is much better quality.
This was meant to be my winter, quck up awning and I've only used it 3 times but I'll be purchasing a Dometic Club Air Pro 260 next week to replace it. My advice, don't buy Vango, they may look more of a bargain that some others but you'll pay more in the long run.

Leaking twice in the rain even after the repair

bought a Vango Kela V AIR LOW Drive-Away Awning
last summer used it once in the rain and it leaked
sent it back to be repaired and it seemed okay
used it again the other day (july) and it was raining and it is leaking again
this is very disappointing as it cannot be relied on and one thing that is highly likely in the uk is raining when you go camping

Bought vango rivera 390 all season…

Bought vango rivera 390 all season awning fell apart after 13 days in total and this was only used on 3 occasions.
2 days 10 days and 1 day.
All the pegging points came out of plastic shrewd and the fixing pads to the caravan is a total waste of time and does not work.
Had credit note eventually after they repaired it which we did not want due to no confidence in what is poor awning for £1,700.

Was on a waiting list for the item I wanted (shangrila 2 self inflating mattress 15cm) recived an email say that it was in stock went onto the website and ordered one, two days later recived another email saying the warehouse had messed up and there was no stock.

No message on when the stock would be avalible again. Just that.

Very unhappy as I was wanting that item for my upcoming camping trip. I have to wait until August when the rest of the shops get the stock In (at a cheaper price as well).

VANGO Extremely poor quality

Extremely disappointed, we purchased a Vango Tuscany 380 just over 12 months ago and every time (3) we have used it one of the inner tubes has burst. As a result we have an awning which is completely unfit for purpose. The replacements cost us approximately £50.00 a time. So far this awning has cost us over a thousand pounds to buy And a further £150.00 for replacements. I intend to write a report to the Caravan and Motor Home Club to let people know just how poor Vango products are now. We have had a Vango awning before and only needed to replace one inner tube in about four years at a cost of approximately £36.00 that is fair enough but £50.00 per use is ridiculous.
