Don't believe the Quality hype on the website
Stark contrast between what's on the website and what's delivered and how after sales issues are handled.
Ordered large bespoke wooden gates, posts and hardware from the Northern branch in July, paying extra for the gates & posts to be finished in Graphite. The finish was nothing like the coverage shown on the website - I was told those photos were customers own paint, but that's not made clear on the website. The 195x195x2700mm post had a split across the top of the post (5mm wide and running 900mm down one side and 600mm down the other) - I was told this is normal even though my gate fitter said the post was fractured and not fit for purpose. Eventually got them to agree to collect and refund the £130 for the post and have since source a 200x200x3000mm pressure treated post for £70.
The whole experience was made worse by the attitude and inappropriate language of the person I had to deal with. On more than one occasion before agreeing to refund the post, he told me 'life was too short to make a big deal of this'. I asked a number of times for the name and contact details of someone I could complain to and eventually called the head office - only to reach the same guy who then told me that I would 'end up a sad and lonely woman' because I wanted to complain!
Having done a company search to find details of the directors of the company, I now think the person I spoke to was one of them - Kenny Wortley. If that's the case, it's pointless taking the time to complain to the company. But, I believe it's important for others to be aware of how customers' reasonable concerns are handled and the verbal abuse they may receive when raising those concerns.
Quality must include after sales service.
