Romance and Mystery

It was a very enjoyable book. The narrator did a good job throughout with the characters voices.
The balance between the mystery and the romance was perfect, neither were over shadowing each other. The romance was realistic and charming. We also didn't get too many clues about the criminal, so you won't be able to guess until the end.
It also took me a longtime to understand the story was inspired by Cinderella. The fairytale's classics's scenes were so well weaved in the story it was barely noticeable.
I really enjoyed it :)

Abigail Foster fears she will end up a spinster, especially as she has little dowry to improve her charms and the one man she thought might marry her - a longtime friend - has fallen for her younger, prettier sister. When financial problems force her family to sell their London home, a strange solicitor arrives with an astounding offer: the use of a distant manor house abandoned for 18 years. The Fosters journey to imposing Pembrooke Park and are startled to find it entombed as it was abruptly left.

It was a enthralling read. The mysteries of the past is at the forefront of the story and it is gentilly dotted with romance. I think Agatha Christie would have liked this book.
What wasn't my cup of tea was the christian morals and J name being dropped.
The narrator did great for the voices, but it was my first time to speak up the audio. At normal spread, the narrator was too slow for me, the words took forever to be pronounced. So, I changed the speed to 1,2. It took care of the pace and all was well :)
