Histoire
In Becoming Wise, Tippett distills the insights she has gleaned from this luminous conversation in its many dimensions into a coherent narrative journey, over time and from mind to mind, into what it means to be human. The book is a master class in living, individually and collectively, curated by Tippett and accompanied by a delightfully ecumenical dream team of a teaching faculty. Wisdom emerges through the raw materials of the everyday.

Tippett's Becoming Wise is a book for our time. Evoking in the reader reflection, tolerance and a search for understanding the other as we attempt to grasp what it means to be human in the present political-social climate. Through these chapters we are encouraged to acknowledge biases and assumptions - and their corollary consequences - of the past while being hopeful towards the future. Tippett reflects on her personal (sometimes painful) history and gathers the stories of eminent citizens to reach beyond shaming and "gotcha" media for a deep exploration that will surely encourage not just the journalistic action of asking better questions,, but indeed becoming wise. This is the book I will most likely gift to my fellow human beings.
